March 17th- 23rd

Hellooo everybody!
How are ya doing? I hope you all are doing well!
It's Monday, and Sister Dyson and I, are sitting in a tire shop! Yep, that's where the cool kids hang out these days hahaha! We had to take care of some things for the truck today so here we are, we've been here for about two hours...and what a better way to spend time than doing our email for half of our visit here?! Genius, right! I thought so! Thank goodness we have iPads!
This week was really busy! Sister Dyson is feeling up and better and we are out and about sharing the gospel! What a life!
We we're able to pick up FOUR new investigators this week, all with the members' help! Yep, member missionary work is so great! Us missionaries LOVE it when you get excited for missionary work! We were able to teach more lessons than we thought we would and help out a lot of members with ideas in how they can spread the work! So we were working a lot with the members, and we have seen miracles happen! Sister Dyson is doing well, and knows so much about the gospel so it's pretty cool to understand more and more about the gospel by having study with her every morning. It's been such a blessing to have the use of iPad, Facebook, etc. we're starting to see more miracles happen with the process of using all this technology to help hasten the work.

We had 2 investigators to church, a lot of less actives to church, and more people from the members come too! We're seeing so much progress here in Paradise!
Yesterday, was the fireside I sang at along with a few others in the stake- and I was able to sing a solo after 2-3 practices in about 2 weeks so it wasn't bad hahaha thank goodness! We had one of our investigators there and a a lot if the ward members came! So that was awesome! It was a good turnout! And we felt the spirit so strong!

Hope you've had a great week! And that you're seeing miracles happen!
Until next week,

Sister Matchett

Week of March 10th-16th: Baptisms planned and a visit from a Scorpion!!

Hello all!
I hope you had a great week!
It was quite an eventful week- we did the usual thing..... sharing the word of God, you know, it was a lot of funn:)
We were able to have some really good teaching appointments this week, and we were able to set two baptism dates.
Emily and Kylie, are two sisters who expressed the desire to baptized from the moment we started teaching them- last week we were able to set a date with them! After much prayer and consideration- we came up with April 26th, so coming soon....two baptisms! and the family is really excited to learn more and have the family come- plans have started to be made to ensure that everyone can come. The parents, Lisa( the mom)- is LA, and the her husband, John( nonmember) are now interested in meeting with us because of their daughters interest. It was such a miracle! We're so blessed in this area.

We were also able to have more members come to lessons with us- all of them are so willing to come and help us. We have an amazing ward. I hope you all are able to seeing miracles happen in your homes and ward as well. We also had a great turnout at church too, I happened to be giving a talk  too on ...you guessed it! "Missionary work"- it was a tough talk for me to do hahaha!
It went well, and we had enjoyable sunday too. Another high council member spoke too, Brother Chatfield. He was a good speaker as well.
So lots of good lessons, good contacts with people, and many miracles. I apologize if this short compared the rest of the entries so far- short on time.
A few things coming up:
1. " Why I believe" fireside( I'll actually be performing a solo in it, with another sister who is playing the violin. So I'm excited! It should be good, and lots of people are going to come...so perfect "missionary opportunity" to invite everyone too.
2. My 6th month mark was on March,15. So I have a year left-  can't wait to see what the year has in store. Being a missionary is great!  :)
3. I was able to finish the " 85 day challenge" to read the BOM( Book Of Mormon) and I have seen my faith grow and grow and the love I have for my savior has deepened. I know that the Book Of Mormon it as another testament of Jesus Christ, and that he is there with us every step of the way to help us with whatever trial we need help with. I hope you all are taking the opportunity to read your scriptures everyday, they truly do provide us the strength we need to accomplish all things.

oh, and fun fact: I learned that I do not like scorpions. There was a scorpion in our bathroom last saturday night....I  was kinda freaking out. Sister Dyson didn't quite believe me until she came in and saw it on the floor hiding in my towel haha so she killed it thank goodness( I didn't have the guts too- still freaking out lol I know I'm a wimp...I'll admit to that! ) and then we were able to go to sleep. At least Sister Dyson did haha but everything was okay...I learned that I do not like bugs/spiders/ any creepy crawly thing especially at night time around bed time(10:30)
so that was my week- I hope you all had a great week and that your doing well :)
Until next week,

Sister Nicole Matchett

Week of March 3rd- March 10th

Hello everybodyy:)
enjoying daylight's saving?? I know we are! People are out later, and we can somewhat see at night haha( it gets pretty dark at night up here) so the later it gets dark, the better lol
I hope you had a great week filled with miracles- I know I did! It was a really busy week, Sister Dyson was feeling better so we were able to be out and about talking to everybody we saw!
We had a lot of visits with members and were able to invite them to some of the ward activities we were having. We were able to teach to them and help them closer to Christ- there is no better feeling than that. I love being a missionary, and am so grateful for the chance to be here...now...serving the lord. I do hope your all having " missionary moments"- they can make you feel so good as you serve others and take the time to listen to them.

My studies from the Book of Mormon have been so great, you learn so much from it.
I love reading about faith! It's always a good pick-me-up when you need to be reminded.
How have your studies been? Good, I hope!

We had a really good Sabbath day yesterday! We had 6 investigators come to church, a lot of LA's (less actives) come, and many of the members' families came too. It was packed! What a blessing! We were so blessed to have all of those people come and be there. It was Ward Conference and we spoke about "Hastening the Work"- every single member in our ward was pumped up, and they trust us! So it was easy in ward council to talk about missionary work. Members from the Stake Presidency were there too- the spirit was so strong! We had plenty of moments like that throughout the week- and all of our hard work throughout the week was worth it- because sunday was a big turnout! It was a very great week! We were blessed for our efforts.
I'm looking forward to this week- so much has happened already and I am excited to learn more on how to better serve the lord. The Book of Mormon 85 challenge is so great, and I have learned so much. My faith has increased and it's a great feeling to read it in the morning, it gives me a great boost for the day.

Another great thing that happened- we were able to make contact with Michelle, a family we are teaching(the mom)- we set up two- three appointments for this week to meet with her and teach her entire family. What a miracle! We were so blessed and my prayer was answered as to how to best help her- the answer was so specific and direct.

So as you can see- much has happened with my life at the moment...
How was your week? Anything new happen? let me know.....I'm only an email or letter away! hahaha seriously though I love hearing about everything going on with you.

Have a blessed week :)
Until next week,

Sister Matchett :)

Week of February 24 - March 3

Hello all! :)  How are you doing? I hope well!
This week was a bit slow, Sister Dyson wasn't feeling well again...so we were inside for most of the week when we had set lessons but when the lessons were over, we went back to the house so Sister Dyson could rest. It was good because the weather was a bit crazy and we have had a lot of rain, and so we were safe :)

We had a good lesson with Ashley, one of the youth we teach, she is progressing well!
We also met with Dottie three times this week, she is progressing well too!
We are seeing miracles in this area, even with a few challenges that came our way ...we overcame them with the help of the lord.
We also did a lot of service and were able to help others with small little things and that was a blessing. We love service!
Not too much to report on this week, just being a missionary and doing the lords work. It's the best!!
I love you all and hope your doing well :)

Oh, and I almost forgot....we had transfer calls last night, and I'm staying in paradise with sister Dyson...so another 6 weeks here in Paradise!! Yep, I'm excited :D so much to do, and we will see miracles happen.

I hope you all have a great week!
love youu!
Until Next week,

Sister Matchett :)

Week of Feburary 17th- Feburary 23rd

Heyyy there :)
How are you?? I hope well!
So this week was really good. We were able to teach most of our investigators, not all of them. There was a lot of different things going on and they couldn't meet with us this week- but next week they will so all is well.

We were able to have a lot more members come to lessons, and develop fellowshippers( that's what we call them haha friends they make at church...fancy wording peeps!)
The work has been really progressing, and now that the ward is getting more involved- we are seeing so many miracles happen.

On friday, we went and did service for a member in the ward. We were able to go and "clear the trails" they live by the mountains so it was fun. so there are some pictures with all of that. What a view! All of God's beautiful creations- especially the mountains. We got some cool pic's- you'll see :) - We got into a big discussion on faith and how we can see our faith grow as we help others and pray, read the scriptures, etc. It was a really good visit.

Saturday, there was a woman named Ellen Tovey being baptized.  A week before saturday her and her husband were married. Now she could be baptized! She was taught in Washington, and decided to come down in California so family, Brother Tovey (a member in our ward), could baptize her. Brother Tovey asked us if we would speak- what an honor it was! We didn't teach her, but we were the missionaries in the area so we ended up having that baptism in our records. Those elders that taught her did such a great job, and Ellen was so ready to be baptized. How lucky we were to be invited!

Sunday, 3 investigators and about 7-8 Less actives showed up for church. We were so blessed!! All of our hard work is starting to pay off. It was a great service and we loved getting to see everyone there, Ellens family came for her confirmation- right after she recieved the Holy ghost, she was beaming and loved it. The spirit was so strong.
Then we meet with a girl named Jessie, and visited her- we took some pictures with her haha so we had a great week!
I hope you've all had a great week and that you have seen miracles happen in your lives. We can have miracles always, all we have to do is pray for them to happen and have the faith- and they will. God always answers our prayers.

Love you and all!!
Until next week,

Sister Nicole Matchett :)
