December 15- 22nd

Merry Christmas Everybody :)
Well, last week was a bit crazy lol with transfers, helping Sister Paul unpack, going to two zone conferences, and of course being a missionary. It's the best though.
Last Monday, Preparation day was a bit rushed because we had to go to a tire shop and take care of tires...fun! I spent about 3 hours there, and then we had to go get groceries, clean, and of course go back to work at 6pm so it was a bit busy haha but we got everything done so we could focus on the work and be tools in the Lord's hands.
Tuesday, we went to a zone conference with all the southern areas in the mission and we were each given Ipad mini's as tools to help hasten the Lord's work. It's pretty cool, the idea is that we will all be able to look up whatever information we need out of our area book with the tap of our fingers! It's pretty fun, but we get to transfer everything from the paper area book onto the electronic area book....that isn't as much fun haha It was fun getting to learn with all the missionaries as we were presented with another tool to help share the gospel.
Wednesday and Thursday, Sister Paul and I were out talking to everyone! We were going about sharing the word of Christ and we were able to pick up 3 new investigators as well as invite some Less Actives to church, so we did alot of work those two days.
Friday, The mission had a Christmas conference with the southern zone and every area like Auburn, Antelope, Lincoln, etc had 2 musical numbers. Sister Paul and I, and the elders that serve in our ward did a Quartet and sang "O holy night" and the  rest of our zone sang "Joy to the World" it was really goood. The spirit was very much there, the other zone numbers went well too, and we got to hear from the mission presdient and his wife afterwards. They spoke on the Savior's birth and talked of how we can invite Christ into our heart this Christmas, and how we can strength our relationship with Christ and share that with others esp. now at Christmas!
Will you make time for Christ this Christmas? I know I am!
Saturday and Sunday, went well and we went out and visited most of our investigators, and talked to a lot of people.
SIster Paul is great! and we get along well. She is a Sister Training Leader so that means I get to go on exchanges a lot, and show other sisters our area when I stay in Rio Linda. It's exciting, and I can't wait! Everything is falling into place, and the work is hastening.
I hope your Christmas is wonderful, and that you remember to let Christ come into your home for this holiday. I love you all and keep you in my prayers. I am blessed so very much, and know that you all are amazing. Remember the best gift that you can give is love, and we all have that so share it with everyone you meet- they will feel the Christmas Spirit.
Have a wonderful Christmas!
Until Next time,

Week of December 2nd- December 8th .....TRANSFER WEEK!! CRAZY BUSY.

Dear Family and friends,
Heyyy there!! It's finally feeling like december here in Rio Linda, and the weather has gotten a bit chilly ...well more like really chillly haha but hey! It's Christmas, that's how it should be. As usual, I'm freezing lol I'm always cold hahaha so that's still the same but I am doing well.

As of today, I am no longer a "greenie" missionary. I am finished with my training, which means that I am getting a new companion. Yep, you heard me right! Sister Housley and I have been together 2 transfers (3 months) and she herself has been in Rio Linda for about 7 months, so now it's her time to go to another area which is in Chico! She is going to be a Sister Training Leader- I got trained by the BEST! - and my new companion is coming from Chico, so really we're just changing spots which is super nice. My new companion is Sister Paul, and She is a STL too, so I'll be going on lots of exchanges....Yay! I'm stoked. I love meeting new people.

Sister Housley is getting excited and I know I learned so much from her on how to be a fantastic missionary, and she is going to go be an amazing missionary up there! It's kind of a bittersweet moment- but we know that we'll see each other again and we'll keep in contact so I'm not at all worried about losing communication with her. My heart is full of gratitude and I know I have been blessed by the lord with an amazing trainer, my dear Sister Housley, and she radiates the love of Christ to everyone. I am taking over Rio Linda with Sister Paul now, and off we go! It's going to be an adventure and I'm excited to see where everything goes in the area, and find more of Christ's people. I love this. With the Lords help, Sister Paul and I are going to on Rio Linda and we will see more miracles happen.

This week was transfers week, so it was bit busy but we were able to witness miracles in the area. We saw a lot of Less Actives, picked up 2 new investigators( Mikenna and Sydnee-both know each other lol crazy how that works! ) and we were able to be instruments in God's hands by having really good street contacts with those we came in contact with and seeing those people we usually see, and finding more people to teach. This week we were very blessed.

How are your efforts in missionary work going? Are you able to witness a miracle everyday? YOU CAN pray to have one, and the lord will give you an opportunity to do so- just listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Remember to read your scriptures and pray everyday.
Remember who you and who you represent, most importantly remember how much God loves you and how much we can all have peace in the world we live in. I love you all so much and pray for you often. Keep going. Keep that faith firm in Christ, and he will help you! He loves you.
Oh, and I heard it snowed down there in Texas??? I hope your enjoying the cold weather :) Send me some pictures lol I've heard ya'll got a lot( Yes, I said ya'll lol ) Happy Holidays!
I'll keep you posted on what's going on up here in Cali.
Until next time,

Sister Matchett  :)

November 24th- December 1st 2013 & PICTURES!!!

Helllllloooo friends and family!

How was your thanksgiving?! did you eat alot and feel stuffed....because I sure did!
Thanksgiving was really good, and the family we ate dinner with had a lot of family there. It was getting to know them a little bit, and we went and visited some of the people we usually go see. Holidays are sometimes weird days for missionaries, but it was still a good one!
This week a bit slow, but we were still able to see a few miracles happen.
Kateyln, is doing well! Sister Housely and I stopped by to see how she was doing and both her and her mom came out and talked to us for a bit on how they making pies for the holiday! I love Katelyn and her family so much! This girl is making a huge difference in her families life.
There were some other miracles that happened with some of the Less Active members that we have been trying to reach as well! People are making steps to coming back to church, and we are being greatly blessed for the efforts we are putting in.
So last week wasn't as exciting, but we're making progress as we will our goals with the Lords to hasten the work!

Sister Housley and I, have been greatly blessed with support and both love and appreciate our families so much! We talk about each others families all the time, and we're both excited to talk to them over the phone and hear their voices on Christmas!! SO exciting!

It's crazy to think it's December all ready, yet the weather here during the day isn't too bad- at night though it's getting somewhat cold. From what we have heard, there's a chill coming and is on it's way over to Rio Linda, so that's exciting! Bring on the coats!! lol
I hope you all are having the chance to witness a miracle everyday and see how the Lord is blessing your lives- I know I have. I have come to realize just blessed we are as latter day saints to have The Gospel of Jesus Christ with us and to be members of his church. It truly is the best gift we have. I know that the Lord loves us, and will help us. Love you all!
Your the best!!
Until Next week,

Sister Matchett

As promised:)
