July 21st - 28th

Helllo all!

How was your week? Well I hope! We had lots of miracles this week.
Monday, July 21st.
Typical p-day, rested, played with the other missionaries and emailed
home. Then dinner with the eyeslee's so it was a good day!!

Tuesday, July 22nd.
Slow morning, made a lot of phone calls then went to izzy's for lunch!
So it was a good dayy!
Then we did some finding in Magalia and saw a lot of LA's so that was
good. Then we had a brunch sorta thing with a family, the Leroy's, and
it was a good visit. Sister light got to meet them and we were able to
read some of the Book of Mormon with them.
Then had a lesson with the Avery family, and the Toveys and brother
Wyler were there. So it was good. Then the same night routine!

Wednesday. July 23rd.
We had district meeting and it was really good! Loving paradise so
far....the work here is going well.
We had lunch then headed over to Magalia to do some finding, so we
went to see the neighbors of the Holmes. And we saw maddy, the
granddaughter Pat, and we were able to share something from the BOM
with the them and set up another time to meet! Then had a lesson with
tony! And he is doing well! Especially with overcoming a tobacco
addiction, so he's doing really good so far!
Then dinner with the brooks, and then we had their first new member
lesson with them!
So that was pretty cool! Then the same night routine!

Thursday, July 24th.
We had president interviews!! It was really good though! President
Marshton is legit. He is so cool man, and shared some inspired
thoughts to help me with my growth as a missionary. So it was cool.
Then we had lunch , and went to see Dottie! Then we had dinner with
the brynes, and then we had a BOM study class and Julie, one of our
investigators came so that was fun! Then we did the normal night
routine.

Friday, July 25th.
We has weekly planning so that was cool. Then had dinner, then made a
bunch of phone calls and did finding. Pretty much our day.

Saturday, July 26th.
Went up to Magalia and saw some members, did more finding, and then
had a lesson with Tena and that was really good then dinner with
sister Holmes so it was good! Then around the event, same thing we
always do.

Sunday, July 27th.
Sunday schedule! Loves it! We had a lot of people there and the
brooks, Avery's, and many others were there! So it was cool. Then did
more finding and visited more people. Then the normal night time
schedule for Sunday. So it was fun! Then got ready for Monday.

Monday, July 28th.
Fun P-day! We had breakfast with the elders and a family in our ward
this morning so that was fun! Then we did errands and went to Chico
and now we're just hanging out....emailing! And chillin. Good rest day
haha hope your week was good! And that y'all are doing well!
Prayers are going out your way! Love you guys!

Until next week,

Sister Matchett :)

July 14th-21st

Hey all! Hope your week was good! Sister lights and I had a really
good one. We saw many many miracles happen!

Monday, July 14th.
Typical p-day haha we played volleyball, hung out, emailed our
families, and rested for a little bit. We had dinner with the
chatfields, which was so good. It was a summer meal! Then went over to
see some members to follow up with the 40 day fast, and we got to see
a PI, Emma! She is doing well. We talked to her for a little bit about
the BOM and how we can use the audio app on it...she was super
interested in that. So that was cool! Then the normal night planning!

Tuesday, July 15th.
A slow day compared to the rest of the week. We had lunch at izzy's!
And it was swell! Then did some finding in maglia and then had another
great lesson with tony! Our dear friend of the Toveys, he accepted a
date for August 2nd to be baptized! He has to overcome one word of
wisdom addiction, but he's doing really well. He is willing to give up
that addiction too, really excited to be baptized! So that was a
really cool miracle!
Then had a really great lesson with Phil and Michelle, the parents of
ashley( young girl who was just baptized) and Phil is really
considering baptism so that's really cool!
Then we set up the next lesson, and came home and planned.

Wednesday, July 16th.
Did service for sister in the ward moving wood, so that was pretty cool!
Then came back and got ready for a zone conference in Chico. It was
really good! We spent most of the day in Chico, after the meeting we
went out to eat then back to paradise! Then dinner, and figured out
jerry and Lisa's baptismal program for Saturday. So that was really
exciting! and got ready for exchanges with Sister Rollins, the newest
sister training leader.
So we exchanged halfway between paradise and Chico then got ready for
Thursday! So sister light went to Chico while I stayed in paradise.

Thursday, July 17th
Lots of miracles happened. I made a lot phone calls for the program
then made a few phone calls while sister Rollins updated her Areabook
in her area. After all those calls, we left around 11:15am,  and went
to a lesson with Dottie, and sister fry! Sister Rollins knew her from
her last area...red bluff....so it was such a treat for all of
us....it was like a mini reunion for them haha. The lesson went really
well, and all of us felt the spirit so strong, then we had lunch with
them!
After lunch, we had another lesson with marque and read some more of
the BOM with her....and then she gave us a bunch of homegrown kale,
red zorro, spinach, etc. It's good stuff. Lots of salads. Then we went
to see a friend of marque, Marie, and we picked her up as a new
investigator! Then right after we went to see sister Dautlon, a LA,
and we were able to share a message with her.  And her granddaughter
was there. So we picked her up as a new investigator, Aleysa. So that
was cool. Then dinner with maldens, and then we left for exchanging
back with our companions, so it was a busy day but it was good!

Friday, July 18th.
Did planning for most of the day, confirmed everything for the brooks
baptism and then had dinner, then saw the Hamners and read with them
in the BOM so that was really cool! Then did more finding! Then
prepared for Saturday and the weekend!

Saturday, July 19th.
We got everything ready for jerry and Lisa's baptism...and we got that
taken care of.
It was such a great blessing! They had a lot of their nonmember family
there and the program went amazing! The spirit was so strong there!! I
also had another surprise too!
Sister laws told me that she wasn't going to make it ...a few days
before the baptism....but she totally surprised me by showing up and I
was freaking out. It was such a good surprise lol she got me good!
Hahaha but it's so like her. It was like a reunion for all the ward
and I....it was so nice! I loved seeing her so much! We had so many
miracles happen too with the rest of our visits. Attached are some
pictures too. Eric Schuster was able to come from Texas and we got to
meet him and some more of their family too after their baptism! So it
was such a good day!

Sunday, July 20th
It was such a good day at church! We had the brooks confirmed and the
Avery family came as well as more people too from vacation and such so
it was a good turn out.  Lots of members are super excited about
missionary work. After church, we had dinner with the manwills and it
was really good! I had salmon guys....and it was way goood! It wasn't
too bad. I'm trying more things in mission than I thought I would
hahaha but it was really good. Then tried to contact a few more people
then came back to the house and planned, called in numbers...typical
Sunday night. And got ready for Monday.

Monday, July 21st.
It started raining today so we did a few errands then went down to
Chico and now we are all just hanging out and taking a break hahaha so
it's been a nice day so far. We have dinner tonight with the
eyelsee's, and they are awesome! So that's our plan for today.
Loving paradise, the people, and being a missionary ! It's great. I
hope y'all have a great week!
Enjoy the pictures too!
Until next week,

Sister Matchett

July 7th- July 14th

Hello all! I hope y'all had a great week! I did for sure.
Last Sunday we had transfer calls, and you would never believe it but
I'm still here in paradise! At the end of the month, I would have been
here in this area for 7 1/2 months. So the person that go transferred
was....sister laws! I was so sad to see her go. She got transferred to
cottonwood, CA. She went north haha up where it gets super
hot....especially now in the summer. Cottonwood is near Andersen so
she went more north. I'll miss her dearly.
She and I just clicked! I feel like she truly is my sister. She'll do
well up there! That's where The Lord needs her, and I guess I still
have work to do here in paradise. So transfer calls were a big
surprise for a lot of the missionaries.
Last Monday,  July 7th. Sister laws packed and we did P-day stuff
then went to Chico to hang out with other missionaries and say goodbye
to those missionaries that transferred too. It was a good day! She
only said goodbye to jerry and Lisa brooks, time is too short
sometimes lol so attached is a photos of her with them.

Then Tuesday, July 8th. Transfer day. We finished up whatever we
needed to do in the morning then went to izzy's one last with her and
another elder I came out with, Elder Berger, he got transferred to
yuba city. He'll do great things there! We had lunch. Then everyone
who was leaving went back and got ready to go! Laws and I got a few
pictures with eachother before we separated. There's some more photos
too. She went with two of the sisters in the ward who took her to
cottonwood, while I went with the woman we with to meet my new
companion in Chico. So lots of traveling.
I got to meet my new companion! Then we packed everything in our car
and went back to paradise and she settled in!
Her name is sister light, she has been out for 4 months and is from
west valley, Utah. She is excited to be out and has some greenie fire
lol so I'm excited! She's super sweet and came from the south part of
the mission. Good things are to come! So that was our day mainly on
Tuesday.

Wednesday, July 9th.
We made a lot of phone calls, and tried to visit a lot of people. Not
too much success. Kind of a slow day. But we tried! We had another
lesson with tony, and he is doing well. We taught the law of tithing
and he agrees with everything! Still praying for a date for baptism!
So we are working with him on that and the Toveys were great at the
lesson too!
Then dinner, then the normal schedule.

Thursday, July 10th.
We were busy. Morning was FB, and lots of phone calls. Then a lesson
with Dottie, which was really good! Then lunch, made more phone calls
and then more finding. We didn't have a dinner so we just came home
and made our own! That's right guys! I actually cooked my own dinner
for once lol it was nice to just get to know sister light and catch up
on my journal and stuff so that was a nice break. Then after dinner,
we went over to jerry and Lisa's house for their baptismal interview,
the milbergs also came for that too, and the paradise 1st elders
showed up.  Elder Stepehensen, the District Leader, had the interview
and they both passed! So that was cool! Almost there to their baptism.
All of us in the ward are so excited for them! They have taught me so
much! So we talked with them for a little bit then set up another time
to work on their program. Then went to see a few more people, then the
normal routine.

Friday, July 11th.
Most of Friday was spent inside haha we planned. Then around 1pm, we
left for a meeting with the Andersen, redding, and Chico zone. So I
got to see laws again! And of course, I got some pictures with her and
bunch of other missionaries lol AND we got to meet the new mission
president and his wife! They are super cool. President and Sister
Marshton are from bountiful Utah and they are so excited to be out in
the mission! Good things to come!
We were there for about 4 hours, then came back to paradise. Got back
in time for dinner. And that was fun!
Then the normal night routine.

Saturday, July 12th.
Had another lesson with Dottie, then lunch, then did some finding in
Magalia and saw a lot of people that laws and I have been struggling
in the last month to see so that was a miracle! Love it when moments
like those happen!
Then had a lesson with Julie and Tena, we read from the BOM. And they
are doing well! Then dinner with sister Wilson, she has two
granddaughters out in missions so she was super sweet and asking how
the work was going and giving us a few people to go see so that was
really cool! Then tried to contact a few people, then planned and got
ready for meetings and such for Sunday!

Sunday, July 13th.
It was such a good day!
Jerry and Lisa weren't at church for a family trip as well as Michelle
and Phil Avery....also at a family affair. But Ashley, the girl who
was baptized last week, was! So that was pretty awesome! We also had
Julie, Tena, and a few other investigators show up too! Also a lot of
LA's that we have been working with too. So it was a really good day!
The ward was surprised I was still there....there was at least 5
people that walked right past us after getting a program then turned
around and saw me and was like " woah! Your still here?!" That's so
great!" And I just stood there like " yep! Still here haha!" Lol it
was hilarious. People were shocked that laws got transferred. Sister
light was able to meet everyone, and loves paradise already! I agree
lol it's a great area to serve in! Haha so far 6 months had been
really good!
Then after church, we did some more finding in Magalia, then dinner
with our WML, brier Wyler and his wife, that was a great meal. She is
so funny too!
Then did some more finding, the planning and called in numbers then
got ready for today.
So a bit slow, but still got a lot done.

So this Monday, we are doing errands then going to Chico and hanging
out then back to work!
I hope you guys are doing well! And that everything is good for y'all.
I love you and pray for you guys always!
Until next week!

Sister Matchett:)

June 30th- July 7th (LOTS of pictures!!!)

Hello all! How are y'all? I hope well!
I also hope you had a great week too.
Sister laws and I had such a good week! So many miracles happened. And
lots of photos to share with you guys. I took lots of pictures.
Monday, typical preparation day. Shopped, emailed, played volleyball.
All of the good stuff. It was a way good day! Sister laws and I got a
lot done, and then around 6:30pm we had a lesson with the Avery
family. We watched the restoration with them, which was really good!
Then after that we took care of some last minute stuff for Ashley's
baptism! Then planned.

Tuesday, July 1st.
A bit slow compared to the rest of the week, but it was still really
good. We had a lesson with cris, one of our investigators, and it was
a great lesson on why we really need the savior. Why he was the chosen
one. Did a lot of phone calls. And just planned for the night. Slow
day, but got a lot done.

Wednesday, July 2nd.
We had district meeting with our wonderful district. It was one of the
last ones before transfer calls. Then lunch then more finding...which
was really good.
Then we had an awesome lesson with tony, a friend of the Toveys, and
he is doing so well! We invited him to pray for a date for baptism and
he is going to be thinking about it...he has already agreed to the
idea of being baptized too! So that was fun!
Then we had dinner with the turners and it was good! Then we had some
awesome contacts with some members then planned.

Thursday, July 3rd.
It was super busy.
We had a lesson with Dottie, which was so good. She is doing well!
Then we had lunch, and updated everything in the Areabook.
Then we had a lesson with marque, a LA we are working with, and it was
a great read from the Book of Mormon. We also made more phone calls
and invited a lot of people to the baptism and went by to see most of
the people we have been blessed to work with. So that was really fun!
Then the night routine.

Friday, July 4th! It was such a GREAT DAY! So many miracles happened
and we got to spend a lot of time with investigators and members. We
got some really good pictures too!
Got to do some planning done too lol of course being a missionary has
it perks...we get to plan and serve The Lord while celebrating our
freedom in this wonderful country. It was such a great experience.
Then we had dinner with Avery's, Ashley's family, and got to meet her
cousin...Johnny who baptized her. We got to meet their family and
spend some part of the holiday with them! It was really good!
Then after that we were invited to go to a members house for a dessert
party. And we got to meet a bunch of people. Then went to the another
members house to start their fast with them so it was really good. We
also finalized everything for the baptism for Ashley on Saturday. And
then planned so that was our day! Lots of pictures.

Saturday, July 5th. BIG DAY GUYS.
We had so many good things happen.
Morning was making calls, getting ready, and then around noon we went
to the church to help set up everything for the baptism with the Avery
family, got Ashley ready, and then took pictures. THATS A MUST. Lots
of good pictures. Then sister laws and I, were given the chance to
give talks and that was really fun. There was at least 35-40 people
there, and it was such a big turnout. It was a beautiful baptism and
it was such a great experience to witness someone coming closer to
Christ. Then we all hung out for a little bit, got more pictures. AND.
we had some friends show up too! Remember, my last companion....sister
dyson? Well, she came to Ashely's baptism before she left to go home
tomorrow. So it was like a little reunion. And a bunch of other
sisters came too! So it was such a good treat.
Then after baptism, we went to a park in in Magalia with the Holmes
and they showed us around. SO MANY GOOD PICTURES. It was beautiful
park.
Then had dinner, and then planned. It was a great day!

Sunday, July 6th.
We had a really great church service. The brooks weren't there, but
the Avery's were. And Ashley was able to be confirmed so it was such a
great day! 3 people came to church, as well as a lot of members who
came back from vacation so it was such a great day.
Then went and visited more people. Then waited for transfer calls. I'm
staying....I'm surprised. Laws is getting transferred to cottonwood.
And I'm going to be serving with sister light. So a new adventure and
another chance to serve in paradise. Been here for 6 months, and now
I'll be here for another 6 weeks!
I loved serving with sister laws she is legit! I know she will do well
in her next area. And I love her so much!

And then Monday, July 7th.
Typical p-day.  It's going to be fun! Transfer day is tomorrow.  So
well be traveling. Fun. Will let ya know how it goes.
Time is short. Love you guys and pray for you guys always!
Until next week!
Sister matchett :)

P.S....enjoy the pictures.

June 23rd- June 29th

Hello all!
I hope you had a great week! Sister laws and I had a great week! We
had a lot of miracles happen!
Monday, June 23rd....it was a typical Monday! Hahaha nothing really
happened expect the usual. Took care of the truck, went to Chico to
hang out with the other missionaries, emailed, then dinner with
brooks....I just love them!  We had a lesson with them
afterwards....covered laws( sabbath day, prophets, etc....all the
little lessons people have left after the three main lessons)  and
they are doing really well! They are getting pumped for their baptism!
And they are already doing missionary work too! They only have one
lesson left, then they are ready to go...like sister laws and I are so
impressed with them and feel so blessed to teach them!
Miracles happen...every day! And I love that I get to see them more
now as a missionary. It's the best feeling to have.
Tuesday,  June 24th.
We had a lot of finding and making phone calls. Etc.  We had lunch at
izzy's, and it was way good!
Remember tony tonrono? Well we had another lesson with him at the
Tovey's house, and we taught the plan of salvation...he agreed with
everything. And was so prepared by The Lord to hear his gospel...he
accepted an invite to baptism, wants to come to the baptism we have
for another one of our investigators, Ashley, coming up this
Saturday...on the 5th...so he plans on coming to that! And is praying
for a date for baptism! And plans on being at church on Sunday too! So
he's doing really well!  Another miracle!
After that lesson, we had dinner, then tried to contact a few people
the bishop had asked us to visit...then the normal routine.
Wednesday, June 25th.
District meeting, which was so good!
Then lunch, and had a lesson with the frenches...which was really
good! I love them! Such good people!
Then dinner with sister hatch and Ahrens, they invited one of their
neighbors...melah...and she is way cool! So we were able to meet her,
which was pretty cool. Then went to visit the members and tried to
contact a few more people. Then the normal routine.
Thursday, June 26th.
Busy day! Lots of lessons!
First we had a lesson with Dottie, and she is getting closer and
closer to making that decision to being baptized!
Then we had lunch/ got ready for the rest of the day.
Did some finding then had another lesson with Ashley and Michelle! One
of the families we have been blessed to teach! And went over the rest
of Ashley's lessons that she was needing to get done for her
baptism...which was really good! And while were doing that, her mom,
Michelle was  getting the rest of her lessons done too. Ashley is so
ready to be baptized, everything is set and ready to go! Michelle
expressed interest in being baptized! HUGE MIRACLE!
and told us she would let us know when she was ready ...she's thinking
soon. Sister laws and both thought that too when she said that. So we
were pretty excited about that!
Then had another lesson with jerry and Lisa after dinner, went really
well! Then planned and got ready for Friday!
Friday, June 27th.
We had a "specialized zone meeting" in Chico with the Weston's and the
paulsons, mission president and some of those that serve in the
office.
Basically it was his "goodbye meeting" for the missionaries in the
northern part of the mission.
President Weston and his wife spoke and bore their testimonies on
their service as well as the paulsons who are leaving soon. It was
such a neat experience to hear them speak on what they had seen and
done while on their missions. It was such a spiritually uplifting
experience! I loved every second.
President and Sister Weston leave June 30th( today) and a new mission
president comes in!
President and Sister Marshton, are going to be our nee ones! It's
going to be a cool change.
So that took up most of our day on Friday lol it was also good to see
some of the other missionaries too! I love zone meetings!
I also got a package from my family. I LOVED IT. Seriously, you guys
are the best! I loved the letters too! I read them all and appreciate
all that you do for me. I am so grateful for you guys!
AND my mom decided to send some cookies....YUM! I loved them too btw
mom. Youre so great!

Saturday, June 28th.
So we had a meeting all day Friday. We had weekly planning that day,
so we did that most of our day. And of course dinner, then did daily
planning for Sunday and made a bunch of phone calls, got everything
ready for all of our meetings. So it was a really productive day!

Sunday, June 29th.
It was such a great day yesterday! Sister laws and I saw many miracles happen!
We had meetings before church then greeted everyone as they came in!
We had 7 investigators at church!
The Avery family,  jerry and Lisa, tony, and another gentleman who we
have been teaching also.
There was almost no room left by the time everyone got in there lol it
was packed!
Lots of people came, and the ward is doing more missionary work now
...since we started this 40 day fast...we have seen so many miracles
happen! It was such a great day!
It was 5th Sunday, and we had a little bit of a change for the last
hour lol the relief society class was about fire safety...which is a
common concern up here in California...especially in paradise...with
all the trees. So we learned on what to do...not going to lie...I was
getting a little stressed haha sister laws and I were laughing so hard
about that when we got home lol now we know what to do!
Dinner with the Mahlings, then went and saw some more people! Then
planned and got ready for today! Life of a missionary...lots of
planning!
And Monday, June 30th...it's a Monday! We have a lesson with Ashley
and her family then planning lol and I get to email my family and
friends. Yay:)
Oh, and I also sent some pictures.
We had a really good week!
I hope you had a great week too! I love you all so much and pray you
guys always!
You guys are the best!
Big things that happened:
1. New mission president
2. One baptism coming up on Saturday!
3. Transfer calls are next Sunday...wish me luck!
Your guys are the best!
Until next week,

Sister matchett :)
