Hello all! I hope y'all had a great week! I did for sure.
Last Sunday we had transfer calls, and you would never believe it but
I'm still here in paradise! At the end of the month, I would have been
here in this area for 7 1/2 months. So the person that go transferred
was....sister laws! I was so sad to see her go. She got transferred to
cottonwood, CA. She went north haha up where it gets super
hot....especially now in the summer. Cottonwood is near Andersen so
she went more north. I'll miss her dearly.
She and I just clicked! I feel like she truly is my sister. She'll do
well up there! That's where The Lord needs her, and I guess I still
have work to do here in paradise. So transfer calls were a big
surprise for a lot of the missionaries.
Last Monday, July 7th. Sister laws packed and we did P-day stuff
then went to Chico to hang out with other missionaries and say goodbye
to those missionaries that transferred too. It was a good day! She
only said goodbye to jerry and Lisa brooks, time is too short
sometimes lol so attached is a photos of her with them.
Then Tuesday, July 8th. Transfer day. We finished up whatever we
needed to do in the morning then went to izzy's one last with her and
another elder I came out with, Elder Berger, he got transferred to
yuba city. He'll do great things there! We had lunch. Then everyone
who was leaving went back and got ready to go! Laws and I got a few
pictures with eachother before we separated. There's some more photos
too. She went with two of the sisters in the ward who took her to
cottonwood, while I went with the woman we with to meet my new
companion in Chico. So lots of traveling.
I got to meet my new companion! Then we packed everything in our car
and went back to paradise and she settled in!
Her name is sister light, she has been out for 4 months and is from
west valley, Utah. She is excited to be out and has some greenie fire
lol so I'm excited! She's super sweet and came from the south part of
the mission. Good things are to come! So that was our day mainly on
Tuesday.
Wednesday, July 9th.
We made a lot of phone calls, and tried to visit a lot of people. Not
too much success. Kind of a slow day. But we tried! We had another
lesson with tony, and he is doing well. We taught the law of tithing
and he agrees with everything! Still praying for a date for baptism!
So we are working with him on that and the Toveys were great at the
lesson too!
Then dinner, then the normal schedule.
Thursday, July 10th.
We were busy. Morning was FB, and lots of phone calls. Then a lesson
with Dottie, which was really good! Then lunch, made more phone calls
and then more finding. We didn't have a dinner so we just came home
and made our own! That's right guys! I actually cooked my own dinner
for once lol it was nice to just get to know sister light and catch up
on my journal and stuff so that was a nice break. Then after dinner,
we went over to jerry and Lisa's house for their baptismal interview,
the milbergs also came for that too, and the paradise 1st elders
showed up. Elder Stepehensen, the District Leader, had the interview
and they both passed! So that was cool! Almost there to their baptism.
All of us in the ward are so excited for them! They have taught me so
much! So we talked with them for a little bit then set up another time
to work on their program. Then went to see a few more people, then the
normal routine.
Friday, July 11th.
Most of Friday was spent inside haha we planned. Then around 1pm, we
left for a meeting with the Andersen, redding, and Chico zone. So I
got to see laws again! And of course, I got some pictures with her and
bunch of other missionaries lol AND we got to meet the new mission
president and his wife! They are super cool. President and Sister
Marshton are from bountiful Utah and they are so excited to be out in
the mission! Good things to come!
We were there for about 4 hours, then came back to paradise. Got back
in time for dinner. And that was fun!
Then the normal night routine.
Saturday, July 12th.
Had another lesson with Dottie, then lunch, then did some finding in
Magalia and saw a lot of people that laws and I have been struggling
in the last month to see so that was a miracle! Love it when moments
like those happen!
Then had a lesson with Julie and Tena, we read from the BOM. And they
are doing well! Then dinner with sister Wilson, she has two
granddaughters out in missions so she was super sweet and asking how
the work was going and giving us a few people to go see so that was
really cool! Then tried to contact a few people, then planned and got
ready for meetings and such for Sunday!
Sunday, July 13th.
It was such a good day!
Jerry and Lisa weren't at church for a family trip as well as Michelle
and Phil Avery....also at a family affair. But Ashley, the girl who
was baptized last week, was! So that was pretty awesome! We also had
Julie, Tena, and a few other investigators show up too! Also a lot of
LA's that we have been working with too. So it was a really good day!
The ward was surprised I was still there....there was at least 5
people that walked right past us after getting a program then turned
around and saw me and was like " woah! Your still here?!" That's so
great!" And I just stood there like " yep! Still here haha!" Lol it
was hilarious. People were shocked that laws got transferred. Sister
light was able to meet everyone, and loves paradise already! I agree
lol it's a great area to serve in! Haha so far 6 months had been
really good!
Then after church, we did some more finding in Magalia, then dinner
with our WML, brier Wyler and his wife, that was a great meal. She is
so funny too!
Then did some more finding, the planning and called in numbers then
got ready for today.
So a bit slow, but still got a lot done.
So this Monday, we are doing errands then going to Chico and hanging
out then back to work!
I hope you guys are doing well! And that everything is good for y'all.
I love you and pray for you guys always!
Until next week!
