June 16th- 23rd

Hello everyone! How was your week?? I hope well!  Ours was really
eventful....like some crazy stuff happened to us!
Monday, June 16th....typical Monday! Did errands, played sports and
stuff with the other missionaries in Chico! It was way fun! I'm
beginning to love volleyball more and more now...I'm not too terrible
anymore haha the same with basketball...I'm getting pretty good! It's
nice to do some normal things haha mission life is so different from
normal life. But I love it! And I got email the family<3 love you
guys!
After p-day was over, sister laws and I came arrived back in paradise
then had dinner with jerry and Lisa again! Then had a lesson with them
on chastity, it went really well. They are so ready for their
baptism....they are so willing to change everything for The Lord...I'm
learning so much from them! Then after visiting with them, we went to
visit the Avery family and spent some time with them too! They signed
up to be apart of the 40 day fast calendar to help us with the wards
efforts of missionary work...which was way cool! So we started that
with them then went home and did normal night routine.

Tuesday, June 17th, it was a slow morning but we made a lot of phone
calls that we needed to do then went to lunch where we always go...to
izzy's...and it was so good!
Tried to contact a lot of people, but most of them were busy of not home.
We did meet a guy named tony, a friend of a member in the ward who has
agreed to take the missionary lessons and is ready to hear the gospel!
So we met with the members and tony, taught the restoration...and he
agreed to almost everything about it...seriously so prepared ..so that
was awesome! New person to teach! The wards effort for missionary work
is bringing more miracles that's for sure! Well be seeing him
regularly now!
After tony, we had a few more lessons with some of the LA's we are
working with then dinner  then more finding then  we exchanged
vehicles with some of the elders so then could go down to Chico to get
our bed frames for our room. That was fun! the same routine for night
haha!

Wednesday, June 18th, the elders dropped off the bed frames and
brought the frames in. We took care of putting the bed frames together
for most of the day. We had a couple of lessons with some more LA's,
made a lot of phone calls, exchanged back our vehicles, and tried to
get more paperwork that we have had for awhile done...moving takes up
so much time...especially when you just do what the boss man tells ya
and you have no control lol so that was most of our day. So it was
funn!

Thursday, June 19th
we had district meeting! It was so good! We talked about the
importance of church and how it is essential for our spiritual growth
here on earth...so good!
Then we had lunch, and a lesson with Dottie...another one of our
investigators...and it was way good! Hopefully she comes to church!
Seriously, she is so close!
Lesson with marque, a good read from the BOM.   Then off to dinner
with the sonntag's at a seafood place....luckily...they had some other
choices there...so i got the vegetarian pasta....And it was HUGE. Laws
got some chicken strips ...lol the members were laughing so much at
us..nethier of us like seafood. We got all of our food for
leftovers.....like 4 boxes worth...it was so much food.
Then tried to contact a few more people, no luck so around 9pm we did
the normal routine.

Friday, June 20th, this is the day...the craziest thing happened to me
so far on my mission. Just wait! You'll see why when I tell you.
So typical Friday, studies,  weekly planning, etc. it was a great
start ...laws and I were feeling good! Nothing too weird had happened
yet lol so then dinner time comes around and it was around a members
home in Magalia ..who lives way up there in the mountains...and it was
at least 99 to 100 degrees outside, it was so hot. We get up to their
house and right when I put the truck into park and turn it off. It
starts smoking....fast. Laws and I were out of that thing  so fast.
She went to get the members to see if they could help us while I
popped open  the hood so it could cool it down then i was on the phone
trying to get service to call somebody in the mission office. The
member, brother Tovey, asses what it could possibly be, and decides to
let it cool while we eat. We both Agreed. Lol we were starving dinner
was really good! We had tacos! LOVE tacos. Brother Tovey goes back
out, to see the truck now that it was somewhat cool...and while he was
doing that. I was on the phone making phone calls trying to reschedule
out appointments.... And everything worked out thankfully. He came
back in and took laws and I ...showed us what was wrong....the hose to
the heater that helps it function right had a part missing  which
caused the heater to smoke up. I guess?! so he put on a temporary
clasp. And told us to call them if the Gage's went up..so we left
their house and drove down to one of the main roads to call them. The
levels were all the way up, and the dashboard was beeping, and warning
us "engined hot" over and over again .... then all of that stopped.
I'm not an expert on vehicles ..nether is laws but we  knew that
somehow it wasn't good. Thankfully we were able to get home without
having anything happen. God definitely gave us the help we needed to
get back to our house before the same thing happened again right when
we parked it in front of our house and the heater started to smoke
again. So we cleared everything from the truck and finally got hold of
the mission office later that night. Then bed.  As sister laws put it"
we're missionaries, of course The Lord is going to protect us!" How
right she was! So blessed!  So we didn't go anywhere the rest of the
night. It was a miracle we made if back home! I'm not exaggerating at
all...that really did happen....crazy!

Saturday, June 21st...So we didn't go anywhere Saturday....spent most
of the day trying to get stuff done for the truck ...and no one was
around. So we did missionary work via texting/ calling/ FB. We were
suck inside all day....fun!

Sunday, June 22nd, the sabbath day....:)
Naturally, everyone found out we were without a vehicle ( funny how
everyone knows your problems once you tell ONE person)  so we got a
ride to church, dinner, and one of the members, who's a mechanic came
by and looked at it....a small FI . He got the part and made it to
where we can drive it into his shop to fix it tomorrow! It all worked
out! Church was so good though! The Avery and brooks family were there
and the members were so helpful and pumped to do missionary work. It
was such a good day! Lots of good talks too! Perfect for the everyone!
We had a pretty good week considering everything that happened! We
were very blessed!
Jerry, Lisa, and Ashley are all still getting excited for baptism and
loving church!  and we are doing well!
The Lord does help us, no matter what...he always wants to when we let
him...he is so good to us!

Monday, preparation day, June 23rd.....main thing we are doing getting
the truck taken care so right now we're at a shop! And it's good so
far, just emailing here!  Tr member fixed the broken part then, after
that was fixed...we saw that we needed to change the oil so lots of
car stuff today. (mission office approved us on what we can do...so
it's all good) and  then going to Chico to do errands then relax.
After 6pm, dinner with jerry and lisa! Then a lesson with them then
planning for tomorrow! Pretty exciting lol
I hope you are seeing success and safety in you everyday tasks! We
were for sure! And we are both okay,  and everything is working out.
No stress whatsoever! Such a great feeling!
Love y'all!
Until next week,
Sister Matchett :)

P.S...I also sent some pictures from laws and I saying goodbye from
our old house too! It was bittersweet, but a new adventure begins in a

new home! Enjoy the pics!
