Feb 2nd-9th

Monday, Febuary 2nd. Preparation day!
Doing the usual plus packing so it's going to be a busy day today.  We
are also going to make a few more visits so I can see my friends
before I leave. We left early to go see a few more people before
dinner. So more pictures. Dinner was with sister fregnal. And it was
great. We stopped by the astles, and they gave me a departing gift and
card. I got emotional when they were asking me deep questions about
the mission experience, and then asked me to say the prayer. The
spirit was so strong while we were there. There's something cool about
that family that really hits home for me.
Then we celebrated sister pickups birthday early with sparkling cider
since I'll be in Chico when it actually happens. Then packing...boo:(

Tuesday, Febuary 3rd. Transfer day.
Got pictures with sister thomson, and a few more people. Sister
Addley, bishops wife came and got me and off I went to Chico with her!
I left with sister Addley around 11am, and I departed from sister
pickup. It was rough...we both were so sad but we will see eachother
again.
Sister Addley and I had a great visit on our way, we got there. I met
my new companion sister woods. She's from England, loves Harry Potter,
and everything about food. She was excited to see me too. We live with
a widow, and her name is sister Powell. She's awesome. I got settled
in, then around 2pm we went to see people in Chico. Day 1 was a
success. It's fun to be in Chico again! The work here is moving, and
I'm lucky enough to be apart of it.

Wednesday, Febuary 4th.
We had district meeting and it was great. It was cool getting to know
the elders and learn a little of how the area is doing. This is the
fun part- getting to learn another area.
Lunch, then out to visit more people. We had dinner with some people
in the area. It was nice, really chill people.
Then home and planning. It's offically 17months now.

Thursday, Febuary 5th.
We went and did more visits today. It was fun! I just met a lot of
people in Chico, and they are all amazing. We also got bunch of
teaching records from the chico 4th elders to go see...like around 140
people so we will be busy.
Sister woods is great, and I love serving around her.
Great day!

Friday, February 6th.
It's sister pickups birthday today. So I sent her a card, cuz I miss that girl.
Sister woods and I had planning today, and it was a change from how I
have done it before. But that's just how transfers work. We were going
through the list of people and I instantly knew one of the people
who's looking into the church- a guy named Jason. So that was cool.
And he wants to meet with us! He's awesome, I met him while I served
in paradise. It's a small world.
We had a lesson with lady named pat, and she's doing great- the only
hang up she has is coffee..but she's willing to give it up when it's
the right time, and still wants to be baptized.
Then more visits with people!
Dinner was with the montagues. So it was fun! Then we went and
contacted a family. The are ready to hear the gospel- the mom is
interested and the kids liked us so we are teaching and seeing
miracles. Then home and normal routine.

Saturday, Febuary 7th.
We had a great day!
We had lessons back to back. First lesson was with a lady named Evie,
a friend of another older sister in the Ward, and she is so ready to
hear the gospel. We taught the plan of salvation and she loved it. She
plans on being at church tomorrow. We also checked up on Wanda and she
is feeling somewhat better so that's good.
Our next visit was with a less active, who is slowly coming back but
loves visits from the missionaries so that was awesome. We went and
tried to contact Jason, but he wasn't home. We will try again! Then
dinner with a lovely family, and it was yummy. Then we headed over to
the church for a lesson with Imelda and her daughter, Lucinda and
family- it was great! We talked about scriptures and got some things
taken care of for Imelda's baptism coming up in a week. Around 8pm,
president and sister Paulson came for her baptismal interview so we
talked for a little bit before Imelda and president Paulson did the
interview. The rest of us just hung out until that was over. Then home
after that, and normal routine.

Sunday, Febuary 8th.
First Sunday in Chico!
Since we cover two wards, we had some multitasking to do but it was
fun! I got to meet the members in 4th Ward as well as the 3rd. Evie,
sister Shannon's friend came to church as well as Imelda. And some of
the LA's we have been working with came too, so it was good! The
lessons went so good! And they had me go up and introduce myself and
share my testimony on the spot so that was fun lol the members here
are great!
After church we went and visited more people so that was fun! Then
after dinner we went and saw bishop wright, he's chill. And then more
people. We came home to a surprise afterwards.
President Marston called us and told us that we, sister woods and I,
are being moved because of some stuff going on in different areas so
he's moving us! I'm going to antelope, and sister woods is going to
marysville to shotgun the area( start the area up for sisters). It was
a great week in chico. We had 27 lessons, and we saw so many miracles.
Sometimes we don't know why things happen, but they do. This is a time
where you just go and do. So we are getting ready to clean up the
room, and prepare the area for the elders coming in.

Monday, Febuary 9th.
Packing again( cuz I love packing) and saying goodbyes, and hanging
out with missionaries for my last and final p-day in chico. It will be
great. Everything is working out.
Missions keep you busy.

Hope yall have a great day! And talk next week!
Until next week,

Sister Matchett

January 26th- February 1st

Transfer calls.

Monday, January 26th.
Another Monday has come. Sister pickup and I are doing the usual.
Getting errands done, we went on a hike with Katie( RM) and that was
fun! It was nice to just get out. After the hike, we went to the stake
center in Lincoln to hang out with the missionaries in the zone.
Played games, talked, and chilled. Sister Mathews( a sister who goes
home soon) was still focused on her mission- she's awesome. I'll miss
that girl. Mission friends= eternal friendships.
Dinner was with the mcgigans, and Mike was there! Her husband was home
so we got to talk to him and he was telling us about everything with
him. The lesson was good for them too- we all learned from eachother.
We went and visited Brie, full time missionary as of tonight( she was
set apart of tonight), and it was a great visit. We got a referral
too! Memories came flooding back to me when I was getting all the
paperwork ready, packing, etc. So crazy.
We went and saw sister fregnal after that and it was another great
miracle. Then planning and bed. It was busy.

Tuesday, January 27th.
We had district meeting, and it was great! Then saw margaret. It was
cool to see how her faith grows and ours as we visit each time.
After her lesson, I went home and slept for 4 hours. It's about the
right time for me to get what's going around haha being sick is the
best. While I was sleeping and taking medicine and resting - sister
pickup went out with Katie( RM) as her companion while I was home with
sister thomson as my companion. They had a great day too! Saw lots
miracles. My companion is the best!
I got up around 5:30pm for dinner and we headed over to bishop
Addleys- his parents were there so we got to visit with them! Bishop
Addley is excited to do his part, and was asking us questions on how
everything works so he's going to really help the Ward with missionary
work and we are going to probably talk more in Ward council. We're
excited. We headed to the church after for Book of Mormon class and no
one came. It worked out though because we had to go see a few people
to make up time.
We went over to brother lathams house( previous bishop) and gave
Natalie a little gift for her mission. Their family is seriously the
best! Then home to plan.

Wednesday, January 28th.
We did service at the mintons and Katie was able to come and help with
that. We had lunch after, then sister pickup and I came home to
change.
We tried to see a few people with another sister in the Ward, but no
one was home.
Sister pickup and I came home because I couldn't be out anymore
physically and while I was resting she went out with other sisters in
the Ward to see people.
Sister pickup came back around dinner time, so I got ready for that at
least and the denna's took us out for dinner! Which was way nice! Then
we went to the store to get cold medicine for myself and we ran into
Tony as we were walking out. Miracle of the day for me! Then home and
sleep. Not feeling good is terrible, don't ever get sick.

Thursday, January 29th.
I spent most of the day inside while sister pickup ran the area. Sleep
is a miraculous thing. And medicine. And people who take care of you.
Tender mercies are real guys.
Sister pickup and I went to dinner with the Mariners, whitney and her
family. It was the best meal ever. Sandwiches and then brownies for
dessert. She makes the best brownies. We had a great time. We all
needed that visit, including whitney and her family. Then home again.
And bed.

Friday, January 30th.
We had weekly planning, lesson with gerald and austin with bishop and his wife.
We visited wendy and then had dinner with the willis's. It was great!
The loomis missionaries helped a sister out with cleaning up a daddy
daughter dance. It was super cute too. After that, sister pickup and I
went to the powers for a quick visit because her parents( who live in
the ward  I served in paradise) were there for their grandkids
birthday parties. I just love them! We got pictures too. Then home and
bed.
Feeling better is so great!

Saturday, January 31st.
We had a lesson with grace and her kids in the morning. What started
out as a 15 minute visit turned into an hour and half lesson lol it
was a miracle. Grace was inviting her daughter to church and
everything. Her daughter is now looking into the church and willing to
check it out too. New investigator. God is so good. Her family is
slowly opening up more to the gospel.
We did service at the Barry's for a little bit, and had a great lesson
with Sean after on scripture study. Then headed over to sister stakers
for another service with rachel and her girls helping us out. It was
fun. After working, rachel and her girls left for their home and
sister Staker and us had dinner. Breakfast for dinner. YUM. And we all
got sun too haha so we were hungry. We had a great lesson after dinner
then home and getting ready for Sunday.
While we were planning, we got a voicemail on our phone. It was
transfer calls- the list of people being moved. We listened and I
heard my name. Another elder in loomis, elder Gilles ( a zone leader)
is getting moved too and he just got there. I was so bummed that I was
being moved but there's always a reason for everything. I have to pack
now dang it haha! We wait till sunday night for the details on what
and where I'm going. I'll just go and do like Nephi says in the Book
of Mormon.
Total time in loomis=6 months.  6 weeks left, I'm finishing strong.

Sunday, Febuary 1st. Transfer calls.
Church was good! Grace and her daughter came. I bore my testimony in
sacrament. It was packed. I just love this ward. After we broke our
fast, we went and visited people. We had lessons and good visits with
people. I got a lot of pictures so there will be quite a few this
week.
Dinner was with the callaways, and it was so great! We went and saw
Natalie at her open house before she goes to the Philippines. We saw
so many people! It's hard to leave areas, that's the hard part of
being a missionary...you love the people so much and when you have to
go..it's the worst thing ever. Then home for Sunday night schedule and
I found out where I'm going for my last transfer. I'm going to Chico
3rd and 4th and my companion is sister woods. It's bound to be good.
Not loomis, but I'm sure I'm there for a reason! Sister pickup and I
were sad to be seperated too- she's the longest companion I've had.
I'll miss that girl. We truly loved eachother with everything-we even
matched when we weren't trying too.

Monday, Febuary 2nd. Preparation day!
Doing the usual plus packing so it's going to be a busy day today.  We
are also going to make a few more visits so I can see my friends
before I leave.
I hope yall have a great week! And know how much I love you. Thanks
for everything.
And I will write yall next week!
Until next week,

Sister Matchett
