Typical p-day, did errands had dinner at 6pm with the jensens,  and it
was great.
Started the McLeods fast with them, then went and left a note at elder
Gilbert's house....it was his birthday! So we tried to be
sneaky....but no such luck hah oh well! We were all laughing lol then
night routine.

Tuesday, October 22nd.
Did service with the rest of the loomis elders at one of their LA's
house, and it was great. We pulled roots out of her yard...I guess
they have been causing problems haha so we were digging up tree
roots....let me tell ya...they are some strong and smart roots too. We
were all tired after. Had lunch. Then went over and saw ashley, and
had a great visit with her. She texted us and asked if we could come
over...miracle of the 40 day fast! Good stuff.  Then saw some more
members and visited some more people. Then went to another family to
start their fast with them. It was great!

Wednesday, October 23rd
Did finding in the morning. Then saw lots of people in the day and
went around to see them! While we were driving on our way to see
someone we passed ashley, and the mier family just chatting ...so we
said hello! Then went by to see some more people and went by to see
president Alston. And then dinner with the brosnan, it was like a mini
thanksgiving....so good! Then went by to the simenson and carillo
family and it was a good visit. Then another family to start their
fast...good stuff.

Thursday, October 24th.
Did service at sister stakers house with the elders for most of the
day, and we cleaned up dust, did some mucking( smelled great btw HA
SIKE), and then some more.
She got us all some food, and it was great! Then did more finding and
dinner, then visited more people. Then night routine.

Friday, October 25th.
Weekly planning, lessons with austin and gerald and wendy. It was good.
Then more visiting people. Dinner, and more working with members.

Saturday, October 26th.
Did more service! It was at the barrys, and it was fun stuff! We made
a lot of baked goods, cleaned up outside, and other things for like 6
hours, then dinner, and went to another members house to get the fast
going with them. Then night routine and getting ready for Sunday.

Sunday, October 27th.
Meetings went good in the morning, the work here is hastening a lot
especially with the the members now more excited about missionary
work.
We were visiting a family and our phone goes off and a LA guy calls
and asked if he could come to church....we were like...of course you
can! So he came to church as well as Sean Barry with his family!
Things are going well! Sacrament was great! And we were able to talk
to a lot of members get excited about missionary work.
We went into the YW's and talked about being missionaries and using
PMG. it was great. Then after church, we went over to have dinner at
bishop lathams house( our dinner fell through and they wanted us to go
to their house so it was great! It was a last spending time with them.
I love them so much. We started the fast with them, and then did
Sunday night routine. I love this area! We also had a great contact
with a LA that we have been trying to get in touch with in forever! So
we are excited for the next week.

Monday, October 28th. Today...preparation day=party day.
Did the usual in the morning, and we got permission to go to a play
place in Roseville so we are doing that for most of the day...I'm
stoked. It's going to be a good day today!

October 13th- 20th

Hello!

It's been a week full of miracles.
I hope yall are doing well! And that yall are having a great week!
Mine was great!
I love being a missionary. Life is so great.....those "tender mercies"
of the lord are real btw...everyday.
On to the email.

Monday, October 13th.
P-day. It was good to see everyone and hang out with sister bramlett
and her family.
Then dinner, then more finding and visiting members. Then night planning.

Tuesday, October 14th.
We had district meeting, and it was great! Sister pickup gave a great
focus on serving others. We had a lesson with Margaret right after and
it went so well. We also did service for her as well since we were
there. Then did more finding, contacted people as we were going to see
those who we had planned to see. Made a bunch of phone calls during
that time too. We heard over to the astles around 4:30pm...a few
minutes early before dinner so we could get to know dacoda, an
investigator that we have been trying to get in contact with for
months. And he was there! Miracle yall! Dinner was great! We were all
laughing so much- and the spirit was so strong. Dacoda was really open
and let us know about his family and how long he had been meeting with
the sisters...good stuff. Had FHE with dacoda and the astles, and we
watched Elder Bednars talk "come and see" from this conference. And it
was so good! We all felt the spirit so much! And had a good lesson
right after watching his talk about recognizing the spirit...and set
up another time to meet with him! It was great! Then headed over to
the BOM class, which was great! Then home and planning!

Wednesday, October 15th.
Did a lot of finding. Most of our set lessons fell through, we
everything we did was all led by the spirit. We tried to contact a lot
of people ...most of them weren't home...so we just left flyers for
events going on as well as our card too. We had dinner on our own, and
just updated the Areabook with people we saw.
After dinner, we were able to see ashley and Brandon and talk to them
for a little bit. N talked to her neighbor and saw some more people.
Then around 9pm came home and started planning.

Thursday, October 16th.
I woke up to begin our day, and sister pickup was sitting at her
desk..I could tell something was up. So I asked- turns out her older
sisters husband passed away from a heart attack while he was sleeping.
He was 39 and  they had two young children
She was having a rough morning. So we talked for a little bit, then
she called president marshton. And got permission to talk to her
family. So most of the morning was spent inside.  We left around
lunch, and she had just finished talking with her sister and she
looked more at peace with everything.
On the car ride in between visiting people....we talked about the
peace that comes from knowing the plan of salvation...and how we are
so blessed to know that everything will be alright. It's just hard to
physically seperated from them. It was a good conversation...and we
were able to share that spirit with those we saw.
Had a lesson with Patsy, and did service for charla. It was a good
day! Then more visits and planning.

Friday, October 17th.
We had president interviews! And they went so well! I love president
so much! He does so much for us young missionaries and takes care of
us well. We learned about how to work with the members more, and how
we could have more productive finding and tracting. It was great! And
I got some insight I needed as well! Sister pickup enjoyed hers too!
Then after interviews, we planned, then lunch.
We had a lesson with gerald and austing at 3pm, and it was great!
Then did more finding. After dinner we went over to brother Gilbert's
house, and they work in the mission office and ...had package for me!
:D yay! I love packages, seriously....THEY ARE THE BEST. MOMS ARE THE
BEST. I love you so much!
So we went by, they let us in...we chatted for abit...and I opened it
there...best stuff ever.
Then went home and planned for Saturday. We also started the 40 day
fast with sister mcready! And now it's begun!! Can't Wait for the
miracles to happen.

Saturday, October 18th.
Did a lot of street contacting...there was a fair going on so we went
by and visited a lot of the people we usually meet with to see how
they were doing then lunch.
Patsy called us, and asked if we could meet her at the family history
fair ...and we said yes! We sure can! So she meet us there after we
ate and babysat her sons dog( I guess she was dog sitting and decided
she wanted to come) while she was being helped by a pro there!
Let me tell yall- having a cute dog with you is a GREAT conversation starter. :)
Haha! It was fun! She left after an hour, then we saw brother
stoddard, the WML, and talked to him a little bit. Then left to go
visit some more people!  And started the mcgigans fast with them too!
Day 2 of 40 day fast. It was great! Then got ready for Sunday.

Sunday, October 19th.
Meetings went great in the morning.
We saw Anne west, wife of a LA we have been trying to come  to visit
more. We had a good conversation with her too about trying out the
church and what it can help us with!
The primary program was great! It was so cute how everything went with
it. And there were lots of people there too!
The simenson/ Carrillo family came( mom, son, and daughter)  and Sean
Barry with his family, as well as others.
We went around to the different classes and talked about the 49 day
fast and people signed up for it! So it's going to be fun! Then after
church, saw some more people.
Dinner was with la Plantes, and it was great! Then started the fast
for the pedersens with them! Then normal Sunday night routine. It was
good!  A week full of miracles.
Pictures are attached from the week too! Hope yall enjoy.
Life is good. I love being a missionary, and being a member of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It really is such a
blessing!
I hope yall have a great week! And that you are seeing those miracles everyday!

Today, Monday..October 20th.
Typical P-day. I'm excited to rest and relax a little bit. And email
my family! Will let ya know how the week goes!
Until next week,

Sister Matchett

October 6th- 13th

Hello beautiful people! How are yall? Well, I hope!
Another week has gone by, way too fast. Anywooo. On to the letter
shall...shall we? LETS DO THIS.

Monday, October 6th.
P-day, it was full of errands. Pickup and I got a lot of it done fast.
We had some sports, emailed, and hung out. Dinner was with sister
fregnal, and it was great! Then went home and did night routine after
seeing some more people.

Tuesday, October 7th.
Did some finding in the morning, and it was great. Saw Ruth! I love
her! We talked a lot with her about the Book of Mormon and she read
some it! It was so great! We had such a good conversation with her
too! Things are looking better with her!
Then lunch, and did more finding. Had a lesson with margaret again!
And it was so good! She's loving everything about the gospel. Then
more finding, then dinner, then getting ready for the BOM class- which
was so good btw! Only one person came, but the spirit was so strong as
well read a chapter together. Then visited more people.

Wednesday, October 8th.
We had zone meeting, and it was so great!! Lots of good things were
shared. We had lunch afterwards then did finding then dinner with the
Earps- and it was so great! Then went to try to contact a few
referrals, then had a lesson at the astles house and came back to the
house to do nightly planning.

Thursday, October 9th.
We had the opportunity to watch "meet the Mormons" and I totally
cried...so did some of the elders who cried too..."man tears" is what
they call them. It was so good!! I loved every second of it...if you
haven't seen it....SEE IT. ASAP. It's so great. My favorite was the
football coach. LOVE HIM.
After the movie, which btw was so cool that we were able to even watch
it! Not many missionaries had the opportunity....our mission president
has the hook-ups yall! I just love him so much!
We had a lesson with Patsy- and it was great!
Then dinner, then more visiting members with everything going on for
the Ward missionary efforts. Then nightly planning.

Friday, October 10th.
Weekly planning! And it was so great!
Then we had a lesson with Austin and Gerald as well as wendy and it
was so good!
Then did more finding, and visited more members then went to dinner
was with Suchomels. And it was great! Got everything ready for the 40
day fast announcement in relief society for Sunday.
Then visited more people. And Ashley and brandon, the couple we are
teaching was able to meet the limarys! So that's cool!

Saturday, October 11th. Saturday.
We did service in Lincoln with the sisters there, then came back to
loomis to do service for the barrys! After we did that, we cleaned up
and met one of our investigators, charla, and went to a baptism in
rocklin so it was great! After the baptism we had a lesson with her on
faith so it was good! Then dinner, then more people we visited. Called
and talked to many members so it was good! Then prepared for Sunday!

Sunday, October 12.
Church was great! Meetings went well, no one was at church this week
though:( they were all sick, at work, or had something come up so
...that happened BUT it was fast Sunday and we were able to be fed
spiritually by those who bore their testimony and it was great! Sister
pickup and I taught in gospel principles on the Word of
wisdom...hahaha we taught about food on fast Sunday...funny how that
worked out.
It wasn't too bad for being told last minute we were going to teach
it! Lol so thank goodness the spirit teaches and not us! The Ward is
getting excited to do more missionary work, and things are starting to
roll out! And everyone is on board for the 40 day fast- so people are
already signing up now, and are stoked for it. The missionary work
here in the Ward is going to be so much better!! And the we all going
to be excited about too, and we get to to work more with the members
so we don't have to tract anymore...YAY. it's good to keep us
missionaries humble, but not so productive at all.
Then dinner with barrys, then a lesson.
Then another lesson with a PMF- and it was great!
Then Sunday night routine. So that was our week! Many miracles are
happening! Life is great!

Monday, October 13th.
P-day! Did errands, I colored my hair cuz my companion, sister pickup,
noticed a bunch of gray shiny hairs in my head ...she told me this
during companion study...so I looked in the mirror and sure
enough....there were a lot! So guess what I did today too? I dyed my
hair and touched up the color on it! It turned out alright, so
thankful,y those little gray hairs are gone! We did the usual, and
played games at a members home in our Ward, the bramletts ( who have
so much going on right now) and they let us use their game room, fed
us snacks, and hung out with us for a little bit. It was nice, that
was for a couple of hours then we went back to the church to finish
emailing, and now we have dinner so it was a good day today! Can't
wait for the rest of the week.
Have a good week yall! And always remember how much the lord loves YOU.
Enjoy the pics too!

Until next week,

Sister Matchett

September 30th- October 6th

Hellllo everybodyy! How are yall? I hope well. Things in loomis are
doing great. I love it here. Life couldn't get any better than being a
missionary. AND General Conference was SO GOOD...AM I RIGHT?! I loved
it ...if any of YALL can't tell.
Transfers were last week so we had a busy week. Onto the
email....ready, set, and GO!

Monday, September 29th.
Day before transfers. Typical p-day stuff. Cleaning, laundry,
emailing, shopping, and sister kimura went and visited a bunch of
people in the area before she got transferred on Tuesday. So lots of
pictures from that coming with this email. We played a bunch of sports
and signed journals. Then all left around 5pm to finish visits with
people.
Dinner was great! Then more people to visit. Then night routine. And
sister kimura did last minute packing. Figured out rides for
transfers. Then bed.

Tuesday, September 30th.
Transfer day. We had taylors as a district with elder lavemia and
sister kimura before they had to go their meeting place for exchanging
of companions and new areas. Sister stoddard went with us to drop
sister kimura off at the mission office and to pick up sister pickup.
She has a good last name....right?! Haha she's cool with all the
teasing people give her for the last name though...I like her. She's a
keeper yall!
Anyways, we dropped off sister kimura at the mission office, said
goodbye. Said hello to a bunch of other people at the mission office,
and met some of the new missionaries as well as the mission president
and his wife. Then got sister pickups stuff loaded in the truck. And
left to go back to loomis. She's cool. Her name is Sister Daliss
Pickup, and yes her mom is from Texas so that's why her first name is
the way it is.  I love it haha! She's been out for 6 months, and is
very excited to be in a car area...she's been on biking for her past
areas. So it's going to be fun this transfer. I always seem to get
great companions! She graduated the same year as I did so I'm thrilled
to work with her. She's funny too.
Got back, unpacked, I finished up some stuff that needed to be done,
then we went to dinner with the Mariners, and it was great! Then had a
BOM class and it was a better turnout than last week. Then saw some
more people. Then night routine.

Wednesday, October 1st.
We had District meeting, and we all seem to get along already. The
elders brought pizza for lunch...and I was really wanting pizza but we
didn't have time to get it before DM and they bought some cuz they
were hungry. I was doing a happy dance inside, I literally prayed that
morning for pizza lol and it was answered. The gospel is true yall!
We had a good lesson about commitments, and how we can truly hope
those we have been blessed with progress as we lovingly commit them to
read and pray, and much more to see the lords hand in their lives. It
was great! I feel myself becoming more converted to the gospel as I
serve those around me, including other missionaries.
Then we had a lesson with margaret, and it was great! Then did more
finding, and dinner with sister staker, then went to the webbs ( an
active family in the ward) and practice taught with them- it was a
good visit. Then night routine.

Thursday, October 2nd.
Can I just say how amazing this day was?! I loved every moment of this
day. It was run the lord. Everything.
Sister pickup had a RC, going through the temple this night for her
endowments.... that she has been working with for new member lessons
and was invited to go through as well other sisters so I had to go
with her...seeing that she can't be alone and HAS to be with a
companion....I thought it would be good to go. Sacrifices you make for
your companions...so hard haha
Anyways so we we were out seeing as many people as possible in the
morning because our ride was coming at 4:30pm, and we didn't have a
dinner so it worked out.
We saw mike, Ashley, and Patsy and had really great lessons with
them. Then went by to see sister powers to visit with her for a little
bit...and her parents...he ingolias...PEOPLE IN MY LAST WARD IN
PARADISE...we're just about to get on the road to go back to paradise.
We pulled in the driveway at the perfect timing. So i got to see gem
again! Tender mercy! We were going to get lunch after her visit and
they asked if we wanted to get frozen yogurt..so it was our lunch haha
but we got to hang out and sister. Powers got to meet sister pickup.
It was really cool! I got a picture with the Ingolia's. Then we had to
leave to go update and get everything done before we left for the
temple.  Left for the temple, got to do some good stuff in the temple
since we were there a bit early before her endowment session. 6pm came
around we got ready for that ...dspent good quality time with this
sister going through for her first time and we got to see some of our
dear friends...aka other sister missionaries that I have served
around. It was great.we took pictures after, came home and planned
then bed. It was such a good day. We literally spent 4 hours at the
temple and the spirit was so strong. And it felt so nice to not be in
the crazyy world for a bit...my advice for yall....if you can- go to
the temple. It helps a lot with overcoming much of life's challenges.

Friday, October 3rd.
Weekly planning, went well. Then we had lunch. And then went have a
lesson with austin and gerald, it went great. Then saw wendy, and it
was good too! Then went and see more people and get to know the ward
more since both of us are still new here. Then had dinner with the
thomsons and it was Chinese...so good! Then went to the Barrys for
FHE, and it was great!! Then the night routine.

Saturday, October 4th.
CONFERENCE TIME!
We spent the first part of general conference at a LA's lady's house,
sister fregnals, and afterwards we ate lunch together and it was grand
:) right after we went to sister mcgigans and watched it with her
family! I love them sooo much! We had a great time too! Then after
that, we were invited to come over and visit a PMF, the simenson/
carrilo family, one of their daughters (ALicia)just came home from her
mission in Texas! Where she served n San Antionio, Austin, and San
Marcos. We talked a lot, about Texas yall. And she says yall a lot too
btw. It's cool. So we got to share a message with her and her family.
And contact one referral from their family with Alicia. It was
great. Then went to visit a few more people after that.
Had dinner with sister mcready, YW president, and it was a great visit.
Then went to see some more people, then went back to the thomsons
where they had a wedding reception and a lot of non members there-
they asked if we could help the, out with cleaning up afterwards and
come to the reception ( a friend of the. Son) so we we went to that
and got a lot of good contacts with people that have heard about
then"mormon missionaries" so it was a good visit! Then left for
planning and all of that.

Sunday, October 5th.
Conference part 2!
Loved the sessions! And all of the speakers! It was soooo good huh?!
We recieved lots of good insight and "personal revelation" for
ourselves and our investigators.
We watched the sessions at the stake center in Lincoln with Alicia.
She was our ride, and her brother, Sam, came to one! Miracle! He liked
it too! So that's good!
Then we had lunch and went right back to the stake center to watch the
last conference and while that was going on a huge miracle happened.
A girl, about my age named Carla, had met missionaries three years ago
and had promised them that she would come to a church service. She was
walking by the church, and randomly that thought came into her mind so
she went in and there was a guy who told her what was going on- she
came right in and listened the talks being given. Do you remember
Elder Bednars talk given specifically to those who are not members?
Well she heard that! All of the missionaries there were loving that
one! So right after conference was over, there were some elders who
serve in Lincoln talking to her and gave her those sister missionaries
number to call if she had any questions. We walked by her, and the
thought came to me that we needed to talk to her...and Alicia was
already out the door to get to her car so I thought I had missed
it....but we had just gotten in the car and and Alicia asked her as
she was about to walk home is she wanted a ride....hahaha and Carla
was a little freaked out but we piped in that it was all okay lol so
she told us where to go, and why she went to church in the car ride
and everything...so we had the chance to talk to her. And dropped her
off( and got her address too ...just in case the missionaries need it
;))
God works miracles through people yall. I can't quite put into words
how thankful I am to be a missionary, because moments like that....are
so amazing.
After that miracle, we got back to Alicia's house, and sister pickup
and I went around and visited a bunch of investigators, members, and
contacted a lot of people.
We had 2 investigators watch conference and like 4-5 LA's watch it too
and others! So
Many good things happened! And we had really great lessons with those
we have been blessed to teach.
Dinner was great! Then the Sunday night routine. And prep for Monday.

Monday, October 6th.
P-day! Doing the normal stuff. Laundry, email, and errands, then going
to Thor stake center to play sports and hang out with the other
missionaries to relax and chill. Then dinner with sister ferganel
tonight and more people to see!
I love this work. I love having my family. And I love this gospel.
Life is great. I can't complain ...I have been blessed very much and I
know that yall have been given so very much- now all we have to do it
just be thankful and serve those around us.
GC was so good! I felt a need to repent and work on those little
things I need to improve on to help me be ready for when the lord
comes. How grateful I am for those challenges that have helped me grow
into the person I am, and to always be better.
I hope yall have a great week and that you are able to see miracles happen!
Love yall! And enjoy the pictures to come, there's lots.
Until next week,

Sister Matchett

September 22nd- September 29th

Heyyyy y'all! How was your week? Well, I hope!

member took us out to get frozen yogurt and the whole ward was there
haha it was cool though cuz we got to see some great people. Then had
a BOM class at the church. And that went great.

Wednesday, September 24th.
We did a lot of finding, and got to meet a lot of people. We went
around and shared with people about the " family history fair" coming
up in Lincoln in a couple  of weeks.  Then had dinner with another
lovely member. Then went to see a RM, her name is Alicia, and she just
got back from San Antonio, TX....YEP! I love it she says y'all a
lot...and her family just moved in the ward. And we got to meet her
nonmember step dad and we had a great visit with them. Then went home
and did nightly planning.

Thursday, September 25th.
Did a lot of finding with people in the ward and then with people we
met on the street while tracting. Using the family history fair
invite, and we got a call from one of the people we got in contact
with. His name was Paul, and called us back! Which was a miracle
because most of our set lessons had fallen through. So we went and
tried to catch him at home- no show, but we were able to see some
other people along the way and we had a RM come with us too so we saw
a lot of success.
Saw Lynn, a lady we have been trying to contact for weeks, so we
finally got see her then went to dinner. And it was with the mcgigans
and we got to have some soup...cuz it's fall weather lol and it was
great!  Then went home and ninth routine.

Friday, September 26th.
We had weekly planning and it went great!
We went out to lunch as a district so it was great too!
Then we had a lesson with Austin and Gerald, and it was his birthday
so it was a little party with cake and ice cream! The lesson went
well!
Then saw Wendy, then helped out her roommate Judy with some stuff.
After that we had dinner with the thomsons, the members we live with,
and their family was there. It was waffles for dinner!!! Everything
was good.
Then we went and saw the stakers, and got to meet their daughter,
Kalyan, another RM who served in Texas..and it was so great! And got
to meet their friend, Nathan, and he has very little to no background
in God. We showed them the "because of him" video and we were able to
challenge him to read and ask if the book was true.
Then came home and did night time routine.

Saturday, September 27th.
Spent all day at the Barry's doing service. So it was fun! Got lots of
sun, got to spend some quality time with their family, then we came
home and got ready for dinner with the la Plantes. So it was all good
stuff. They had homemade ceaser salad, and we got to hear an
experience about prayer with their family.
Then went to the general women's conference...and it was great! Then
came home and planned. And prepared for Sunday!

Sunday, September 28th.
Church was great. We had ward conference and the stake president spoke
to us as well as bishop Latham. It was so good! Tony  la plante and
Sean Barry came to church! It was so good to see them! Then we went
and saw some people after church, did all of our updating stuff. Had
dinner, then saw more people, then came home to get numbers ready and
wait for transfer calls.
NEWSFLASH: sister kimura is going STL! In the last zone I came
from....CHICO! She is going to love it! And I totally called it.
President called her so it was offical. So she's getting stoked for
that! My new companion is sister pickup, she's been out for 5 months.
And we are all meeting up on Tuesday around 1:30pm. So after that
call, I got ready for be while she was packing.

Monday, September 29th.
p-day. Busy day. Getting all of our stuff done, signing eachothers
journal, and saying goodbyes, and getting all of our rides taken care
of. And of course, emailing y'all! It's been busy. I love being a
missionary. Life is great! I'll explain more on what sister pickup is
like. So life is great! I hope y'all are doing great! Love y'all!
Until next week,

Sister matchett :)

September 18th- September 23rd

Heyyyyyy y'all! It's Monday again! That went by fast, huh?! Hahaha
another P-day!
I hope y'all have had a great week so far and that you are seeing
success with everything so far!

The rest of the week went by so fast, and we saw many miracles.  Let's
get to it.

Thursday, September 18th.
Sister Kimura and Sister Hannien went to temple, so her companion,
Sister Lohman was with me for half of the day. Since we, Sister Lohman
and I, both went to the temple while our companions worked for the
time when we were in the temple. We got to go on another exchange! And
it was great!
Sister Lohman, and I were able to get a lot of street contacts in and
see Ruth. She's an old German lady who loves the sister missionaries,
and likes learning about religions, so we stopped by to see her and
she was home and we were able to have a decent lesson with her!
Miracle. Then saw a few more people, then lunch. Our lesson cancelled
with Patsy, one of our Investigators. So we got to talk for a little
bit about our missions and how we are growing too.  She compared it to
a soccer game, and how when we get tired in a soccer game...you just
get put back in when you have energy to play....it's not at all like
that with missions. You have to give it your ALL- NO MATTER WHAT.  NO
MATTER HOW TIRED YOU GET.
We don't have a second chance to play if we give up. We only have ONE
chance to play, so we better make it worth it. I thought that was so
cool. She goes home in two weeks, and I just love her!
Then after lunch, we changed into service clothes and went to do some
service for one of our RC, Margaret( she's the one who had a dream
about me coming to the area...and I saw her in the same dream I had
too) and we cleaned her bathroom.
Then exchanged back because kimura and Hannien came back from the temple.
Then kimura and I went to see Wendy, RC, and she was having a rough
day. So we helped her out with some stuff and read the BOM with her.
Then went to dinner with the addleys, they took us out to chiptole.
And it was great!
Then went to see some more people, then home to plan, the night routine.

Friday, September 19th.
It was weekly planning, it went well! Then had lunch at a deli place.
Then a lesson with Austin and Gerald, and the addleys were there....it
was great! Then went and saw Wendy again, read some more of the BOM
with her.
Then went and contacted a referral, who we have been trying to contact
for about  two weeks...and someone was finally home! We weren't able
to talk to the mom, she was on her way out BUT we were able to visit
with the son, and he was very interested in talking to us! So that's
cool!
Then dinner with the swells,  and I love them so much!
Then after dinner, we went to the La Plantes...and it was a great
visit there too! Then the night routine.

Oh, and it was my moms birthday:) HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY MOM:):) LOVE you!!!

Saturday, September 20th.
It was service all day pretty much.
We went over to a members house in the morning, and helped her with
cleaning her garage. And it was nice getting to serve these people who
work so hard to take care of us missionaries. We were there from 10am-
2pm, then she took us out to eat for lunch. So that was nice!
Then we were about to go to Wendy's to help her- and she said she
wasn't up for anyone comin over so we turned around and went home to
make phone calls and stuff like that since we had service around 4pm
anyways. Did that, then went over the Barry's and did indoor cleaning
so it was fun! And they invited us to stay for dinner, since our
dinner got cancelled( it was a ward activity that is getting moved to
another day anyways) and they fed us. He made waffles. And we grabbed
yogurt of all different flavors and put them on our waffles, then
homemade jam, etc. It was a make a quick meal with no planning
whatsoever. it was so good. Sean Barry is one good cook!  Then watched
a church documentary video, and had a mini lesson with them. It was
such a good day!
And right after we stepped outside..it started to rain. So that's
cool! We haven't had rain for a long time. Tender mercy y'all!
Then night routine.

Sunday, September 21st.
Church went great! This ward wants to try out a bunch of good stuff to
increase their missionary work in the area. And I love that!  Got to
meet a lot of people, and then get to know more about them, etc.
After church, we did more finding, updated whatever we needed to on
the Areabook, then went to see a few more people before dinner.
We saw a few people and invited them to a family history fair they are having.
Then dinner with Forrest's, and it was so great! Then talked to their
neighbors, and invited them to the family history event too. Lots of
good contacts.
Then dropped by the mcgigans and saw them. Had a mini lesson.
Then calling in numbers, and got ready for tomorrow.

Monday, September 22nd.
Today's P-day, and it's the usual kind of thing. Going to try catch up
on some journaling, writing letters, etc, all of the good stuff, then
go hangout with other missionaries and stuff like that we have.
It's going to be a much needed day today.  Lots to do.

Hope all is going well, love y'all!!!
Conference is coming up in like 2 weeks, prepare now. It will help to
recieve that revelation from Heavenly Father.
I'll let ya know how the rest of the week goes! I love y'all.
Live, laugh, love!
Until next week,

Sister matchett :)

September 9th-17th

Helllloo everybodyyyy! Wats up y'all?
So this week was so busy! And lots of stuff went down in the mission life.
This week are having our P-day on wednesday( today) because we had the
opportunity to have Elder Neilson and his wife, one of the members of
the 70, so we had a meeting with him this week, and president decided
to move our normal P-day to a working day and here I am haha! Next
week we will be back to normal.

Soo lots of cool stuff happened. And lots of pictures to send home
too! Be excited guys!

Monday, September 8th. Last Monday.
P-day! I got my hair cut! And it looks so much better! Also hung out
with the missionaries too so that was fun! Then we did an exchange
with the STL's, sister bugg and Marx, sister bugg was with me in
loomis while sister kimura was in Lincoln with sister Marx.  So we
switched companions and went to dinner, then took the Spanish sisters
to their dinner after ours then drove back to loomis. Sister bugg and
I stopped at Taylor's to get a few things updated in the Areabook, and
we decided to get shakes! It was great! Then the night routine.

Tuesday, September 9th.
It was a day full of miracles...if there was ever a more perfect day
I've had since I came out on my mission...this would beat that day.
Seriously, everything we planned, we were able to do and it was a
treat to work with one if the sisters I came out and be on the same
page. It was so good!!
We had lots of great lessons, taught every second, and contacted a lot
of people. It was so good! We were both able to get some great
revelation too for each of us.
We exchanged back to our assigned companions around 6pm, then talked
about our day. Sister kimura had a great day too with sister Marx...so
that was great!
It was good stuff.
Saw lots of people after exchanges then night time routine.

Wednesday, September 10th
Did a lot of finding, and had a great dinner! Then did some service
and had the elders help us. It was great! Then night routine.

Thursday, September 11th.
We had zone meeting- which was so good! And it was also sister Marxs
birthday! So after the meeting, we all went out to get Chinese, and we
destroyed that place lol we all ordered something different then put
it out on the middle of the table and it was all gone by the time we
left so....it was good stuff.
Contacted a few referrals, then had dinner with the blatters and it
was great! I love everyone here in loomis...such great people, then
more finding then big routine.

Friday, September 12th.
Weekly planning- it was great! Then we had a lesson with two recent
converts, Austin and Gerald, and it was great! Then another lesson
with another RC, Wendy, and it was perfect timing too when we got
there! We were able to share a message with her that she needed to
hear. Then finding, contacting people, then dinner, then planning and
night routine.

Saturday, September 13th.
We had a lot of good things happen!
We had a great lesson with Ashley and Brandon, and we were able to
teach their entire family about the importance of having God in their
life. Have y'all seen the the "The Hope of Gods light" Mormon message
yet??? If not, WATCH IT. it will change your lives forever....it's SO
GOOD. And we have seen so much success from using that with anyone we
see.
Then we had lunch, did more finding, and then had a lesson with charla
another investigator...that went well too! Then dinner and FHE with
the Barry's. Such a good visit!

Sunday, September 14th.
Meetings and church was great! AND we had some cool people come to
church too....
Anyone ever heard of Studio C at all? Well....Jason, Matt, and another
crew member just HAPPENED to be in our ward for their church time.
Turns out one of them is related to a member here in the ward. So I
took a picture with them of course! Haha they were really cool though
and so nice! And we heard that the fireside they were at went well too
so that's a plus! So attached are those pictures.
Then after church, we went by to see a LA girl, names Vanessa, and
ended up teaching her the restoration and she agreed to take the
lessons again! RIGHHT AFTER we got onto the street, we see the car for
one of our GOLDEN investigators, Ria( who we have been trying to
contact for weeks) just outside of a members house so we went and saw
her! We were able to see what's going on with her situation. She was
homeless and now she is going on a program where it's helping her
build her life back up pretty much. So that's good. BUT apart of that
program means going for 6 months at their church and very little to no
contact with anyone not on her "safe list" so this is super strict.
She is still wanting to be baptized though! And she's being a
missionary so that was cool to hear!  Got all of the info we needed,
so we could talk to president. Then went to dinner, then went back to
see Ria, and she had asked for blessing so we got some people and they
came and we all had such an spiritual experience. It was such a neat
experience.
That took up most of the night, so after our visit with her we came
back and called in numbers and routine for Sunday.

Monday, September 15th.
Full work day! So we did a lot of finding, and teaching, and then night routine.
And prepared for the meetings tomorrow.

Tuesday, September 16th.
We had a meeting with sister neilson, and it was so great ! Got some
great insight from her on what to look for in a spouse...you
know...all that great stuff for sisters to know:) so that was
informative haha it was good though! Then spent the day with the spirt
and listening to elder neilson, president and sister Marshton speak
too. It was great!
After the meeting, we all said hi and took pictures so attached are
some pictures from the meeting then some of us went to get a snack
before dinner around 4ishpm so we were in that meeting all day pretty
much but it was so great! Lots of good notes. It was a "revelatory
experience" and I got to see some friends too!
Then dinner, then more finding, then night routine.
He talked a lot about us, as the missionaries, and how we are to
"connect them to heaven" because that allows the spirit to come and do
it's work. I love that!

Wednesday, September 17th.
It was our P-day. We did the usual stuff in the morning, then all went
hiking around as a zone 1-3pm at a local place so it was great! Then
went to the church and chilled out until we all left to get ready for
dinner.
Sister kimura and I also went to and learned how to make pillowcases
for an hour this morning to help out with a service project in our
ward.
Then dinner with the powers, and visited a family in the ward to
practice teach and get to know them. It was so great. I have fallen in
love with this ward, and the wonderful people.

So lots of stuff happened. And many miracles happened. I love y'all.
Keep going on. Keep moving forward with faith. Keep believing that
miracles happen- they are all around us...all we have to do is keep an
eye out for them.
Have a great week!
Until next week,

Sister Matchett

September 1st- September 8th

Heyyyy all! :)
I hope this week was great for y'all!
I heard that BYU vs. UT game was brutal for Texas...boo :( but the
cougar fans were so happy for the win...so I heard about that a lot
from members in my ward...turns out they are big into football season
too lol and LOVE THE COUGARS...so when they found out I was from Texas
they were chuckling a little bit hahaha but that's okay...I'm still a
Texas fan!  HOOK'EM!  :)

Alright so this week, another great week! Saw many miracles happen!
Onto the letter!
Monday, September 1st. preparation day/ Labor Day:) aka PARTY DAY!
It was great! Had lots of fun doing the normal stuff we do on Mondays
so it was good. We didn't have any party invites from any of the
members as well as any of the other missionaries in the zone lol so we
all partied it up by playing sports and stuff so that was fun! And I
got some extra vitamin D too...it was great!
Sister kimura and I also had the chance to visit with one of our
investigators, charla, and we visited with her for a little bit. She's
great!
Then dinner, then did some finding.

Tuesday, September 2nd.
We had district meeting , and it was such a spiritual experience. We
all were touched by the spirit as we talked about our prayers and why
we love being out on missions. It was good stuff!
Then had lunch, and went to visit some people people!
It was hot outside lol so we both decided to get frozen yogurt lol and
it was for like $2 so...why not?! The coolest thing happend....we saw
one of our investigators there, Brandon! And he was so excited to see
us lol we were excited to see him too! So we got to talk to him for a
little bit and then got some lovely frozen yogurt. It was great!
Had another great lesson with Margaret! I love her so much already!
She's teaching me more than she knows on how to truly give your whole
heart to The Lord. She's the best example of it.
Then dinner, and then went over to the astles to see how they were
doing and practice teach with them...so that was cool! Then the night
routine.

Wednesday, September 3rd.
Most of our set lessons/ appointments fell through so we did a lot of
visiting people and finding.
We went by to see this woman named Ruth, she's been meeting the
sisters for awhile...believes that Joseph Smith was a prophet...all of
the doctrine we believe...just won't commit...and dosen't want to
change. My heart was so sad!  because she could get all those extra
blessings...but she's content with her life for right now...and we
can't really change that part of people. So it was still a good visit
regardless.
Then more finding then dinner with the mariners, and it was great! A
simple meal, salad and then brownies it was great!
Then went by to see charla, sister kimura and I both recieved a
prompting to go see her so we did!
Turns out it was perfect timing! Charla was having a really bad night,
and needed someone to talk too so we helped her calm down and then
called the zone leaders to come and giver her a blessing so they came
and did that...that took like two hours though but it was good for her
and we were able to help her through so,e things that have been
troubling her. Then the normal night routine.

Thursday, September 4th.
So that was my year mark.....MY OFFICIAL YEAR MARK. Only 6 more months
then I'll be home again....that is so crazyy.
I reflected on the journey I've taken so far...and I have changed
since I came out...it's weird to think that time is flying by so fast
now. Everything is just going, going, going, and I still feel like I'm
just learning how to be a missionary. Haha I can't quite explain
it....but I have developed a stronger relationship with the savior and
with serving others. Life really is about serving others...that's how
we get the most joy....it's all laid out for us. So simply put too in
the phrase( that's repeated over and over again in the
scriptures)...." Keep the commandments" and we are PROMISED ...that we
will be blessed for doing our best. SIMPLE.
I love this gospel.
It was a great morning, we did service with a LA sister, then went to
Taylor's and got a milkshake to celebrate my year mark! It was great!
Then talked to a few people and had some awesome contacts with people,
then saw Brandon and Ashley and their two daughters...we were able to
have a good lessons with them all and see how they were doing!
Then visited some more families on the street too, then went to the
stake Relief Society dinner and it was great!
I got a blessing from some of the elders because...well...I got hit
with the cold ( and I've been trying to fight it) and got really sick
...and and my body wasn't able to take anymore so...they were a huge
help and I was able to get some medicine and then go to sleep when we
got home.  It's a humbling experience asking for help lol let me tell
ya! It makes you more grateful for the little things. That was the
rest of the night pretty much, I wasn't able to function at all so I
was out for the rest of the night.

Friday, September 5th.
I slept most of the day. And rested. Sister kimura and the thomsons
and the elders and everyone else that went on splits with her for the
day...were a huge help. I was being watched over and taken care of. So
that was good.
I was out for most of the day, so kimura ran the area. She's a pro!
How lucky am I that she's my companion? So lucky! When I wasn't
sleeping I was writing letters to LA's and RC's we are working with in
the area...so I was still able to work!

Saturday, September 6th.
It was a more productive day than Friday lol but I was still out of
it...but able to get up and eat so that was good! After planning for
the next week, I got up and we went out to see a few people.
We had dinner and FHE with the Barry's and oakdens, and it was great!!
The spirit was so strong there!  Then went by to see a few more people
then planned. And I took some medicine and went to bed. You can't miss
church as missionary haha!

Sunday, September 7th.
Sundays are the best! Especially fast Sundays! It was cool to see how
prayers are really powerful and can bring miracles. Almost everyone
that bore their testimony mentioned something about prayer, and the
spirit was so strong.
We had one investigator come, tony, the husband of one of the the
active sisters in the ward. So he's warming up to the idea of baptism,
we have lots of part member families to work with. It's going to be
fun! I love the area already, the members and people we have to teach
are great!
After church, we went over to the fardeneshs for dinner and got to
meet their family then went to visit another member to work on the
online dinner calendar...I'm excited for that. It should be good.
Then the normal night routine, and called in numbers for the week, and
got ready for tomorrow then bed.

Monday, September 8th,
Preparation day!
Doing the normal things, hanging out with the other missionaries,
emailing, and getting my hair done. I have no idea of what I'm doing
yet- just figured it would be good to do something with it. So I'll
let ya know next week haha! Sister kimura wanted her hair cut so she
set up a time to get it done with a member we know. It should be fun!
Then I'll be going on exchanges with sister bugg, one of the STL's in
the area, for tonight and some parts of tomorrow! I'm excited! It
should be good!
I hope you guys have a great day today, and that you see miracles happen!
Love y'all! Have a good one!
Until next week,
Sister matchett :)

P.S. Attached are some photos from my year mark! And with sister

kimura while we were out and about! Enjoy!
