November 17th- 23rd

A week full of miracles.

Another week has gone by! Cray, cray guys!! Time is flying. This
transfer is almost halfway over...we only have 5 weeks this one
because of Christmas...the church isn't sending home missionaries two
days before Christmas so instead they are sending them home a week
before. It works out though, it always does.
Hope yall had a great week!!
Onto the letter, andddddd GO!

Monday, November 17th.
My 21st birthday.
Today is preparation day aka PARTY DAY.
I always say that as a joke hahaha BUT it's actually my birthday
today! That's right! Big 21 yall! My mom, grandparents, sister, and
the thomsons( members we live with ) gave me presents and cards!! I'll
take some pictures and send them with the email.
I woke up to find a sign for me with my first name hahahaha! It was
weird to see my first name on a sign lol #missionaryproblems So that's
the first cute thing I woke up too.
Then I go into the bathroom...and find my moms package with the
thomsons card on top of the counter...,and on the mirror "happy
birthday!" Written in dry erase marker by sister pickup. I just about
died laughing cuz I was so happy and I was waking up too...it was like
6:30 guys. It was so sweet. I love yall so much! You have no idea how
missionaries love cards and gifts when they are away from home...WE
love it.
Then my email was blowing up with everyone on FB writing on my
timeline, and emails from family, RC's, Investigators, and lots of
members calling us as well as the mission office to tell me happy
birthday. Seriously, I'm surrounded by kind hearted people. I love it.
The lord blesses his missionaries. It's been a great start already,
and it's only noon. Our plans for today, go down to lincoln and chill
with the other missionaries AND eat some cookie cake I made this
morning too. that's right. I made my own cookie cake yall. And it is
delicious. That's the ONLY thing I wanted. Cookie cake. There are
pictures of that too. The icing on it is ....hersheys cookies n' cream
frosting. YUM.
It. Is. So. Good.
Went to lincoln, and hung out with missionaries. We ate cake, played
sports, and they sang happy birthday to me! It was great.
Left at 5pm to go back and change for dinner. Got ready for that.
Dinner was with hodgkins, it was good. They are such a great family.
Then went over the barrys, and walked in...Sean showed us the cake he
made for me. And it was so yummy. Seriously, he made a cake. That's so
sweet. And they sang happy birthday.
Then we had a great lesson/FHE with them talked a lot about the plan
of salvation.
Which lead into the message we were going to share with them....and it
was about prayer. It was a spirit filled lesson. Seriously. It was so
strong. We read some clips from one of Richard G. Scott's talk then
went around the table to comment about how prayer has helped them.
Everyone was touched by eachothers answer. Sean made a serious
comment. That never happens btw...and he gave the most sincere answer.
After he said his comment...you could tell the spirit was there. We
invited them to pray and keep their studies up and left to go home.
Then night time schedule. Such a perfect birthday.

Tuesday, November 18th.
Had a lesson with a LA, Kim Munoz. And she brought a friend too! So we
got to meet her friend. We had a lesson on prayer, and it was just
what they needed.
Then changed and went to do service at margrets for a little bit then
a lesson with her.
After margrets lesson, we went and did service for another member in
our ward...the mittens, an older couple. So we did some yardwork for
two hours, then home to clean up and went to dinner with the
beausoleils, and it was such a good visit.
Really good people, loved getting to know them.
Then to the church we went for the Book of Mormon class and all the
elders came as well as brother hinkey. It was a great read! Then went
to visit a few more people, then night time schedule. And went to bed.

Wednesday, November 19th.
Had a zone conference in rocklin with the lincoln, rocklin, and auburn
zones. Saw lots of friends, had some really great spiritual
experiences.
It was good. Lots of people spoke, president Marshton and his wife
instructed us, the AP's taught, and we ate together for lunch then
learned more on how to be a better missionary. It was great stufffff!
That took up most of our day, so we left the house around 7:45am...got
to the building at 8am....we were there till 4pm. Only an 8 hour
meeting haha no biggie.
Then took home lincoln 3rd sisters cuz their ride had extra meetings
so we took them back to lincoln. Then back to loomis we went!
Had dinner with the brosnans and it was really good!
Then went home to get sister pickup packed for exchanges tomorrow with
sister bugg in lincoln- which means I'm going on exchanges with sister
Marx tomorrow...aka she's coming to loomis and we are going to be
companions for a day until we exchange back. So when sister pickup got
finished...we left to meet the sisters at their apartments and sister
Marx and I came back to loomis...so it was basically all day inside
with missionaries, president, and other people too!
Great day! Lots of good stuff happened.

Thursday, November 20th.
Exchanges with sister Marx.
Had a great morning, great studies.
Left for service at sister stakers around 10:20am, and the ZL's came
to help- elder Gilles, and Bradshaw. We did bunch of projects at her
house. Got to move hay around haha had a great conversation with
Christian, a guy who moved onto her property to help her with the
land. He's warming up more to us. It was cool!
We did that for a couple of hours then went to lunch...and sister
staker wanted to pay for it so we went to round table and ate around
2pm.
Then around 3pm, left to go see some more people!
Went by and saw sister Godfrey, brother carter, a bunch of people who
live on sun knoll....got some great contacts in.
Dinner was with the fahnings! And they were so excited to have us over
for dinner....and are working with someone! So it's cool to see the
members get excited about missionary work! It was a great convo!
Then had a great lesson with ashley and brandon! They are REALLLY
eating up the Book of Mormon, ashley is reading more and more.
Miracles are happening!!
Then exchanged back, and it was great!
Sister pickup had a great day too! Exchanges went great! Then night
time routine and bed.

Friday, November 21st.
Weekly planning was today! Had a perfect morning! Went to the church,
and had a great planning day. Then lunch. Then the library to get a
few things done for some of the people we are working with.
Had a lesson with Austin and gerald and the addleys were there...and
they brought cake again to celebrate my birthday!! She made a
fantastic cake, and we had a great lesson! We all learned something
different from a talk in general conference so it was neat to see the
spirit working through each of us and how we learned from eachother.
After austin and Gerald's- we got a text from wendy...and she
cancelled our meeting with her and changed it to Saturday. So we went
and contacted a media referral we had been blessed to recieve during
the lesson we were in.
Went and contacted it, and saw one of the guys who lives there,
phil,...and is good friends with Anthony( who the referral was for)
and had a great visit with him! After that one visit, we were led by
the spirit to go and see a bunch of LA's and referrals from other
members...and we saw so many people. Literally seeing success  with
each person as we were getting the word out about the church.
Obediance brings blessings. And miracles.
After visiting a bunch of people, we updated everything then went and
saw more people!
Had dinner with the addleys, and they made pizza...all homemade...and
it was so great! Austin came and we got to visit with them and see how
their missionary work is going. Had a great time there! Then more
people, then planning, and bed.

Saturday, November 22nd day of exact obediance.
Sister pickup and I were exactly obediant today. We were 100% focused
and on not wasting any minute of the lords work...and we saw SO MANY
MIRACLES HAPPEN.
The lords work is so perfect, it's just the people that have to fix a
few things aka US.
Had another perfect morning! We were out of the house by 10 sharp for
service at brother abdon! Even though it was raining, we went to the
back of his house and cleaned up his porch and got to visit with his
wife, Tena. And saw a friend of ours  there too! Sister fregnal! So
that was cool.
Then home to change, and went to see Ruth. Had one of the best lessons
with her, and she asked for us to give her something to read out of
the Book of Mormon. So that's was great!
Then home for lunch, had a great lunch and got ready for some more visits.
Went and contacted referrals/ visited some LA sisters...most of the
sisters weren't home but we left cards at their house then went to see
their neighbors. Did this for about 2 hours, took some pictures on the
way. It was fun!
Around 4pm, we went over to see wendy...and she wasn't home..so we
were a little confused haha and then decided to just go see Judy, her
roommate. And she let us in! We talked, got to know her a little bit-
shared a mormon message with her about thanksgiving. Then helped her
with some things she needed help with. That was an hour, then left to
see whitney. She was having a rough day...so we took some Carmel
popcorn bagged up with a few notes and heart attacked her door while
she had company over and then left to try to go see some more people
before dinner.
Dinner was with the stoddards, and we went to a pizza place in town.
It was so good, and we had a missionary discussion/ conversation with
them and everything was perfect. We all were working together too see
what we could do to help the work grow here.
After dinner, we went to see ashley...so we decided to ding dong ditch
her...and left a note with a sweet treat to give her some "comfort
food" she hurt her finger so we thought it would be nice to just give
her something sweet! Sister pickup stayed in the car while I ran to
their door and knocked and ran back to the car and we drove off so
they couldn't see us lol it was fun. Pickup was laughing at me, but
that's normal so we were both laughing haha. #mylifeissohard.....JK.
Went and saw charla for a few seconds, then called the Roseville
elders to check up on one of our investigators, ria, and how she was
doing.  Made a few other phone calls, then nethier one of us knew
where we should go next so we prayed, then talked for alittle bit and
both agreed that we should see grace, a friend of the stoddards, so we
went there...and she answered and we had a great contact with her!
Then to the Johnson's house, another great visit!  They invited us
over, so it was great!
We got a text from ashley and she thanked us for the card then she
texted us later asking about what shoes she could wear to church...so
we answered....and then one of us said the obvious...what a miracle.
She's reading, and is thinking about maybe trying to come to church.
That's huge guys. Texted/ called a few more people. Got home at 9pm,
planned, and got ready for bed.
We did our best to exactly obediant...and we were blessed. Sister
pickup and I had such a great day! I love days like this. Everything
worked out.

Sunday, November 23rd.
Had meetings in the morning, and they went good! Then went to see
Charlie, a member who is in a nursing home now and loves visitors, so
that was a good 30 minutes, tried to see a few more people..then back
to the church for another meeting.
It was with the stoddards, and the rest of the Ward missionaries.
Church was great! Sean came so that was a miracle! We had gwyn, and
rachel come too! It was packed almost. Lots of miracles happened.
Ashley was about to come but then something came up :/ so that was
kind of a bummer. But there's always next week! Set up another time to
see them though! And the barrys!
We had dinner with the mcgigans, and it was simple. It was nice, and
we had a great conversation with the family. Mike, Rachel's husband,
was asleep but toward the end of the lesson after dinner....he woke up
and came out so we got to see him and visit with him for a little bit.
Danika, is ready to be baptized and is excited! Many miracles have
happened to that family in the past year....and mike is getting more
comfortable with us! I love the people here.
We went to see gwyn and her family...but no one answered expect
Anika..her youngest daughter, and she was about to go to bed cuz the
rest of the family was asleep so we decided to go back another time.
And then went to see sandy Hoffman, it was a good contact. Then
planning and night time schedule. Another busy day!

Monday, November 24th. Today.
P-day!
Doing the normal, shopping, cleaning, and laundry then going to
lincoln to chill with the other missionaries.
So I'm excited yall.
Hope you guys have a great week!
Love yalll!
Until next week,

Sister nicole matchett
