December 1st- 8th

Monday, December 1st.
Can you believe it's already December??? I CANT! Time has gone by so
fast. It's been 15 months yall. And transfers are coming up soon. Woah
now.
Anyways, we are going to be shopping, cleaning, emailing, playing
sports, and chillin for a little bit before we go back to work tonight
after P-day.
Sister pickup and I are excited for today. And we are excited to be
ballin too! Haha.
We had dinner with the stakers and her daughter was there...such a
great family! We had a fun time over there at dinner.
Then went over to Ashly and Brandon's for a lesson...and we read out
of the Book of Mormon. It was one of the best lessons we have had in
awhile. They both were ready to go, and seemed to understand the focus
on the introduction. We invited them to read Moroni 10:3-5, then pray
on their knees to ask if the BOM was true. They said they would. It
was cool seeing the spirit work through us. We stopped by another
family after that and visited them for a little bit.
Asked Amy, an RM, if she could come out with us. Luckily she said yes! Yay!
Then home, and planning for tomorrow.
It was a great day!

Tuesday, December 2nd.
Had DM in the morning, and it was a great meeting- I always serve
around great elders. I just love our district!
Had lunch after. Then went and tried to contact people( referrals,
LA's, PMF, etc)...we did this till dinner.
Dinner was at the macintoshes home, and it was so good. We had soup,
and it was raining outside most of the day...so it was nice to just
have soup, bread, and crackers. Lovely family! Then went to the church
for the BOM class, and no one showed this week...so we left to go
visit a few people and dropped off some things we put together for
them. And I sang ( sister pickup chickened out- wimp) a really messed
up version of "joy to the world" ...where I forgot the words for some
parts haha! The people were laughing with us haha thankfully we knew
them so it wasn't weird for them to have some girls ( or a girl) sing
songs badly at their door step.
Then home, and nightly planning.

Wednesday, December 3rd.
Went and did some finding in the morning, then lunch, and helped out
sister thomson with some service at her house while we were there. It
was raining today for most of it so we were both soaked when we did go
outside.
Went with Amy ( the RM) and her sister, rachel, around the
neighborhood, and contacted a referral that she gave us! Saw pat, and
it was great! It was still raining while we went to see these people
so all four of us were just walking in the rain for an hour, it was
great!
We had some really cute notes for the people we teach and we left them
at their homes since most of them weren't home. Amy and rachel left
cuz it was pouring out rain...and then we went back to the
house....cuz it was raining hard. So we did missionary work inside!
Via FB, and phone calls/ texts.
Then dinner with sister fregnal, it was great!
Then went to see some more people, most of them didn't answer their
door since it was raining lol go figure. We stopped by sister Linda
swell and she let us in, we talked to her about our dinner with
purpose. And she gave us hot chocolate, dried our wet jackets, and we
had a great 30 minute visit about the gospel. Then home. And nightly
planning.
And we survived the rain haha which is good cuz we recieved a lot.

Thursday, December 4th.
Spent most of the day doing service at sister stakers house, it was
nice to hang out with her and do some service that she needed done. We
had lunch at her house too, and got to see Christian, one of the new
guys who has been helping out with the property and talk to him for a
little bit. So we did some finding too!
then came home, and changed. Did some more finding, had dinner by ourselves.
Then went to see the johnsons, and it was a great visit! Shared the
Chirstmas video with them.
Then home, planning, and got ready for bed. Sister pickup and I were tired.
It was a great day!

Friday, December 5th.
Had weekly planning today, sister pickup and I wanted to make it a
little bit more fun so we got some food, and chocolate, and sparkling
cider....and planned. SO LEGIT. And we got pictures too! Haha of
course we got pictures!
Which also went really well btw! It was a great morning! Then went to
sister Larsons house, and met her for gerald and austins lesson and it
turned out so good- the spirit was so strong there. Everyone was
touched, and we felt very happy after we left it.
After visiting with them, we headed over to see the Greers then go see
wendy! And we had another great lesson with her!
Then over to dinner with whitney, her family, and brother limary
joined us too( him and brother mariner had to work on their new
house).
Had a great visit with whitney, then went over to see her neighbor Vanessa!
We were over there for an hour...so that's cool! Turns out she is a
member, just hasn't been at church for awhile...and was wanting to get
back into that habit...and then we showed up! Funny how that works.
She has 4 children. None of them have ever gone to church and have no
idea on who God is...and she has been trying to help them
understand...so we are excited to be teaching over there! She said we
could come by and practice teaching! And is excited. Whitney, is also
excited too! So that was a miracle! Then saw the la Plantes, and got
to share a quick thought with them and rip off a note with them. Then
another miracle happened- as we were driving home to plan, we were
texting brandon...and he said that his prayers are getting more
clarity to them!
He kept his commitment( which he has never done before btw) so he's
really starting to feel the spirit as well as ashley too! I just love
that family so much! We have seen more miracles happen and more doors
open to people we have trying to reach ...and our prayers as a
companionship have gotten more sincere and specific...and we are
seeing success! The work of salvation is so great to be apart of. I
love being a missionary.
And when we came home, there was a sweet note with some sweet treats
and a cute train for Christmas. A perfect ending for the day, someone
just gave it to us...and it was nice! Such a tender mercy of the lord!
Then home, planing for tomorrow. Then bed.

Saturday, December 6th.
Had service from 7am- noon at an elementary school for a Christmas
social with the community...so it was pretty sweet! We got there, and
sister pickup and I were at the craft area...and there was a lady
there( the mother in law of one of the members in charge of the event)
who was hard of hearing....and signed in order to communicate.
So me and her signed( I did my signing the best of my ability anyways
haha it's been awhile) and talked for quite a bit for the entire
thing...we had a really great conversation about the gospel too. It's
cool to see how your specific talents can be used in situations you
don't expect to be used! Just goes to show- always be prepared and
willing to listen to the spirit. And have a prayer in your heart
always...I was prayin hard to remember how to communicate with her-
prayer was answered.
After that, we went home and changed. Then met up with the loomis
missionaries and some of the lincoln sisters to practice for caroling
at the nursing home at Charlie's- it went really good too!
We weren't the most in tune haha but they appreciated the visit! Great service!
Then had a snack before the Ward Christmas party, and that was great!
Sean came! And we actually got to talk to most of the Ward ....we know
the people in the Ward...finally! And it was perfect, just hanging out
with friends and family.
Then home for dinner, and tried to go contact people. Then prep for Sunday.
And it's fast Sunday! I'm excited to fast.
We were on our feet all day, and we were tired. But so worth it- so
many miracles happened.

Sunday, December 7th.
Had meetings all morning, and all of them went great! I was excited to fast.
Went to see ashley and Brandon today, and it was a great visit with
both of them- they are praying every night, and have been feeling the
spirit..and are Excerising their faith more. So good! We saw so many
miracles happen!
Had church! It was great! Then dinner with the snow family. I just
love their family.
She is going through chemotherapy right now, and has the biggest
heart. Such a great visit! Then went to visit people, and then came
home to get ready for Monday!

Monday, December 8th.
P-day. Doing the usual, then going to play sports and hang out with
other missionaries.
Last week before we get transfer calls- I hope I'm staying. I love it here.
Have a great week yall! I love yall! And will see you soon!
And enjoy the pictures!
Until next week,

Sister Matchett

November 24th- December 1st

Monday, November 24th.
P-day!
Doing the normal, shopping, cleaning, and laundry then going to
lincoln to chill with the other missionaries in Lincoln.
It was fun! Sis pickup and I got a lot of our errands done, went
thrift store shopping, and then went to the church and played sports/
hung out with the other missionaries.
Came back to loomis around 5:30pm, then dinner with the Johnson's. It was great!
After the Johnson's, we went over to the barrys and had a great
scripture study with them! Then home for nightly planning.

Tuesday, November 25th.
Had DM in the morning, and it was really good! All of us were able to
feel the spirit and recieve revelation for those we have been blessed
to teach. Elder giesler spoke really well on prayer, I can always
improve on prayer....it's cool to see how the lord works through other
people to help you understand better that thing you need to improve.
It also put into perspective that I only have few more meetings left
like this where we focus entirely on missionary work.
After DM, sister pickup and I changed for service with magaret, she
ate lunch. I was fasting today. Then headed over to magarets for
service then a lesson! It was greattt!
We helped her clean some of her house, then had a lesson on keeping
the sabbath day holy. I love her and David so much! They are so cute
to be around.
After visiting with Margret, we went to do service with the mittens
again so we did more yardwork for them for about 2-3 hours. Then went
home and changed and left for dinner with the pedersens. It was a
great meal and conversation. They are so missionary minded. The Ward
here is great!!0

After dinner, we headed over to the church for the BOM class, and we
read some great stuff in 1st Nephi 13. That book brings you more
knowledge if you just simply read it.
We hope more people come!
Then we went over to the yogurt shop to get some fro yo for $2 and we
ran into a RC, austin. It was great! Then home for planning. Lots of
miracles happened.
The work of God is so good. And I'm surrounded by fantastic missionaries.

Wednesday, November 26th.
Did service at sister stakers from 10:30- 1:30pm, and we saw dacoda
there! Turns out he was there just spending the night with austin haha
so we got to have a lesson with him and see how he was doing so that
was cool.
Came home changed, met up with the ZL's to give them a referral for a
friend of margrets, Dennis. And they were able to see him and he wants
to meet with the elders! It was great! Working together to help hasten
the work. It's great.
Sister pickup and I went to see some of the sisters who haven had
visits for awhile and tried to contact a few referrals....we didn't
get everyone we wanted to see visited but we saw the people we needed
to see.
Dinner was with sister Linda swell, and it was so great! It was a make
shift dinner haha she was busy getting everything ready for
thanksgiving so we made a simple meal. It was perfect. After visiting
with her, we went to see wendy. And had a great lesson with her. Then
tried to see another sister who hasn't had a visit for awhile...we got
there...could tell that no one was home. So we left a note, and as
we're going down the steps ....sister pickup almost face planted the
driveway if it hadn't been for the bush next to the rail...I'll admit,
I was laughing for a little bit at first and so was pickup lol so we
were laughing about that for the rest of the night haha she's fine
btw. Just can't see anything when it's dark...who would of thought.
Crazy, right? Lol
Came home, planned, and got in bed. Today marked the ending of the 40
day fast...results- member trust built, and the excitement for
missionary work has gone up! Success!
Then sister thomson got a phone call from the Gilbert's. Turns out the
hermanas in Citrus Heights... had to come over cuz one of the sisters
got robbed...like everything ( wallet, iPad, money, cards, etc) in her
purse by someone...including their keys to their apartment while at an
activity. So they pretty much have to survive with just the stuff we
have temporally...and we were happy to help! So we have roomies for
tonight and maybe the next night...depending on how fast they can help
sister Hughes and melcor out. Luckily, the Gilbert's had a spare key
for their car in the mission office, so they still had their car and
drove here. President is going to be trying to figure that out soon
probably. It made me realize just how much I have to be grateful for.

Thursday, November 27th.
Woke up, did morning schedule. We all had morning studies, they were
all really great.
The hermanas left to get everything with their apartment figured out.
We went to the church for a service project at the church in the
morning with all of the other elders in loomis. While we were there,
one of the members in loomis first Ward invited us for dinner haha so
we all went to that dinner at 1pm.
We took pictures of course! So lots of pictures today.
Had dinner at the church, then headed over to the astles to see them
and wish them a happy thanksgiving! Visited over there, then headed to
the callaways and it was such a great visit! There was lots of people
there, and we had great conversation with the family and their
friends. President Schmidt was there too! I had no idea that he was
connected to the callaway family...so that was cool! We were there for
a little bit, then went to have dinner with ashley and Brandon! They
invited us to come over and eat...it was a nice meal! Very simple, but
so good. It was fun to get to see them as a family, after dinner we
shared a video with them so it was great! And set up another time to
see them! We are getting so much closer to them, huge miracle. They
are doing so good, I love that family so much.
Then home for nightly planning, and did weekly planning. Then bed schedule.
Great day! Much to be grateful for.

Friday, November 28th.
Went and tried to see some people in the morning.
Had a lesson with Austin and gerald- went really good! Then went over
to Wendy's for a lesson, she was really tired and dosed off in the
lesson ...so we asked if we could come back on Saturday for a lesson.
She needed to rest so we said a prayer with her, then left. Went to
drop off some stuff at a couple of members homes, then dinner to with
the blatters- it was great! Such a lovely family.
Then to visit some other members and shared a message with them all.
Saw whitney and her family! Then went to see her neighbor, Vanessa,
and she let us in to watch a video with her ..and we got to see her
daughter, Ember. Such a beautiful baby! We showed the "He is the gift"
and she even said we can come back!! New investigator. Huge blessing.
Such a great visit! She's a sweet person, with a good heart and likes
us...the lord is preparing those people who want to learn. And we are
lucky enough to do his work. It was a miracle and blessing.
Then night routine. And bed. Sister pickup and I were tired.

Saturday, November 29th.
Went and contacted referrals/ visited LA 's for a little while. So we
were tracting in the rain!
Saw grace! She's lovely. We watched the Christmas video with her, and
she gave us a referral for the hermanas in rocklin. So that was
awesome.
Then went to contact more referrals, got some of the houses confused
haha but still talked with people and invited this couple, Ron and
Haley, to the stake Christmas activity and to watch the video. So that
was cool.
Had dinner with the groth family at Lorenzo's! It was great! They gave
us a referral for someone by sister swell.
Then visited more members and showed them the Christmas video.
Saw charla- great visit! Her friend Andrew was there too, so they were
both able to watch the Christmas video. They both really liked it. We
were even invited for dinner too, that was a plus! Then went by the
Alstons. And that was fun!
Then night routine, and got ready for Sunday.

Sunday, November 30th.
Meetings went great! Sister barry came in brother stoddards place ( he
was out of town) and it was fun! We even took a selfie while waiting
in between meetings haha she thought that was funny. We all were
cracking up.
Went and saw Ann west, and shared the Christmas video with her. Saw
Charlie again, it was a short visit he was tired so we left after 15
minutes. Dropped off a box of clothes, fruit, cards, and other stuff
for ashley...so she could have clothes to wear to church! And I
couldn't fit into them anymore haha so I just washed them and gave
them to her..cuz it seemed the right thing to do. She could really use
them.
Then to the church for another meeting with the Ward missionaries, and
that was great.
Church went great! It wasn't as full- probably with the holidays and
traveling. But there was still a good group of people there.
We had Craig hamaski, an investigator come, so that was cool. Talked
with the members, went to all of our classes...and they were all
great! The members are excited to share the new Christmas video with
their friends and were taking our card for that specific video to pass
out. So it's an amazing Ward, our box of 250 cards to give out is
almost out. We only have 80 left and we started this two days
ago...and we need more cards. Crazy.
After church, we had dinner with the closes..such a great visit!
Then went to see the la Plantes, saw Tony! It was fun to see the
entire family. They were putting up their Christmas tree and about to
eat..so they got their dinner ready...and after they said their
prayer...we talked with them for a little bit and then showed the
Christmas video to them...it was cool to see their excitement to share
it. Tony really loved it. We left them with the commitment to share
with someone before Chirstmas.
Saw the swells, shared the video. Another great visit.
Then normal Sunday night routine. And bed. Another great week.

And we are excited to be
ballin too! Haha.
I'm slowly becoming a Gangsta, and using hashtag in my every day
vocabulary...be prepared friends...I'm not the same person as I was
when I left.
I hope yall have a great week. And that you check out that Chirstmas video!
----->" He is the gift" GO AND WATCH IT.
It's on YouTube, mormon.org, lds.org, it's playing in NYC time square,
and in the gospel library app in yalls phone. POINT is: you can find
it anywhere via Internet, media, and church websites. So watch it. And
share it.
IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. And you'll love it.
Enough of that sermon. Haha! Have a great week and have faith to see
miracles happen cuz they do.
Until next week,
Sister matchett

P.S- enjoy the pics too!

November 17th- 23rd

A week full of miracles.

Another week has gone by! Cray, cray guys!! Time is flying. This
transfer is almost halfway over...we only have 5 weeks this one
because of Christmas...the church isn't sending home missionaries two
days before Christmas so instead they are sending them home a week
before. It works out though, it always does.
Hope yall had a great week!!
Onto the letter, andddddd GO!

Monday, November 17th.
My 21st birthday.
Today is preparation day aka PARTY DAY.
I always say that as a joke hahaha BUT it's actually my birthday
today! That's right! Big 21 yall! My mom, grandparents, sister, and
the thomsons( members we live with ) gave me presents and cards!! I'll
take some pictures and send them with the email.
I woke up to find a sign for me with my first name hahahaha! It was
weird to see my first name on a sign lol #missionaryproblems So that's
the first cute thing I woke up too.
Then I go into the bathroom...and find my moms package with the
thomsons card on top of the counter...,and on the mirror "happy
birthday!" Written in dry erase marker by sister pickup. I just about
died laughing cuz I was so happy and I was waking up too...it was like
6:30 guys. It was so sweet. I love yall so much! You have no idea how
missionaries love cards and gifts when they are away from home...WE
love it.
Then my email was blowing up with everyone on FB writing on my
timeline, and emails from family, RC's, Investigators, and lots of
members calling us as well as the mission office to tell me happy
birthday. Seriously, I'm surrounded by kind hearted people. I love it.
The lord blesses his missionaries. It's been a great start already,
and it's only noon. Our plans for today, go down to lincoln and chill
with the other missionaries AND eat some cookie cake I made this
morning too. that's right. I made my own cookie cake yall. And it is
delicious. That's the ONLY thing I wanted. Cookie cake. There are
pictures of that too. The icing on it is ....hersheys cookies n' cream
frosting. YUM.
It. Is. So. Good.
Went to lincoln, and hung out with missionaries. We ate cake, played
sports, and they sang happy birthday to me! It was great.
Left at 5pm to go back and change for dinner. Got ready for that.
Dinner was with hodgkins, it was good. They are such a great family.
Then went over the barrys, and walked in...Sean showed us the cake he
made for me. And it was so yummy. Seriously, he made a cake. That's so
sweet. And they sang happy birthday.
Then we had a great lesson/FHE with them talked a lot about the plan
of salvation.
Which lead into the message we were going to share with them....and it
was about prayer. It was a spirit filled lesson. Seriously. It was so
strong. We read some clips from one of Richard G. Scott's talk then
went around the table to comment about how prayer has helped them.
Everyone was touched by eachothers answer. Sean made a serious
comment. That never happens btw...and he gave the most sincere answer.
After he said his comment...you could tell the spirit was there. We
invited them to pray and keep their studies up and left to go home.
Then night time schedule. Such a perfect birthday.

Tuesday, November 18th.
Had a lesson with a LA, Kim Munoz. And she brought a friend too! So we
got to meet her friend. We had a lesson on prayer, and it was just
what they needed.
Then changed and went to do service at margrets for a little bit then
a lesson with her.
After margrets lesson, we went and did service for another member in
our ward...the mittens, an older couple. So we did some yardwork for
two hours, then home to clean up and went to dinner with the
beausoleils, and it was such a good visit.
Really good people, loved getting to know them.
Then to the church we went for the Book of Mormon class and all the
elders came as well as brother hinkey. It was a great read! Then went
to visit a few more people, then night time schedule. And went to bed.

Wednesday, November 19th.
Had a zone conference in rocklin with the lincoln, rocklin, and auburn
zones. Saw lots of friends, had some really great spiritual
experiences.
It was good. Lots of people spoke, president Marshton and his wife
instructed us, the AP's taught, and we ate together for lunch then
learned more on how to be a better missionary. It was great stufffff!
That took up most of our day, so we left the house around 7:45am...got
to the building at 8am....we were there till 4pm. Only an 8 hour
meeting haha no biggie.
Then took home lincoln 3rd sisters cuz their ride had extra meetings
so we took them back to lincoln. Then back to loomis we went!
Had dinner with the brosnans and it was really good!
Then went home to get sister pickup packed for exchanges tomorrow with
sister bugg in lincoln- which means I'm going on exchanges with sister
Marx tomorrow...aka she's coming to loomis and we are going to be
companions for a day until we exchange back. So when sister pickup got
finished...we left to meet the sisters at their apartments and sister
Marx and I came back to loomis...so it was basically all day inside
with missionaries, president, and other people too!
Great day! Lots of good stuff happened.

Thursday, November 20th.
Exchanges with sister Marx.
Had a great morning, great studies.
Left for service at sister stakers around 10:20am, and the ZL's came
to help- elder Gilles, and Bradshaw. We did bunch of projects at her
house. Got to move hay around haha had a great conversation with
Christian, a guy who moved onto her property to help her with the
land. He's warming up more to us. It was cool!
We did that for a couple of hours then went to lunch...and sister
staker wanted to pay for it so we went to round table and ate around
2pm.
Then around 3pm, left to go see some more people!
Went by and saw sister Godfrey, brother carter, a bunch of people who
live on sun knoll....got some great contacts in.
Dinner was with the fahnings! And they were so excited to have us over
for dinner....and are working with someone! So it's cool to see the
members get excited about missionary work! It was a great convo!
Then had a great lesson with ashley and brandon! They are REALLLY
eating up the Book of Mormon, ashley is reading more and more.
Miracles are happening!!
Then exchanged back, and it was great!
Sister pickup had a great day too! Exchanges went great! Then night
time routine and bed.

Friday, November 21st.
Weekly planning was today! Had a perfect morning! Went to the church,
and had a great planning day. Then lunch. Then the library to get a
few things done for some of the people we are working with.
Had a lesson with Austin and gerald and the addleys were there...and
they brought cake again to celebrate my birthday!! She made a
fantastic cake, and we had a great lesson! We all learned something
different from a talk in general conference so it was neat to see the
spirit working through each of us and how we learned from eachother.
After austin and Gerald's- we got a text from wendy...and she
cancelled our meeting with her and changed it to Saturday. So we went
and contacted a media referral we had been blessed to recieve during
the lesson we were in.
Went and contacted it, and saw one of the guys who lives there,
phil,...and is good friends with Anthony( who the referral was for)
and had a great visit with him! After that one visit, we were led by
the spirit to go and see a bunch of LA's and referrals from other
members...and we saw so many people. Literally seeing success  with
each person as we were getting the word out about the church.
Obediance brings blessings. And miracles.
After visiting a bunch of people, we updated everything then went and
saw more people!
Had dinner with the addleys, and they made pizza...all homemade...and
it was so great! Austin came and we got to visit with them and see how
their missionary work is going. Had a great time there! Then more
people, then planning, and bed.

Saturday, November 22nd day of exact obediance.
Sister pickup and I were exactly obediant today. We were 100% focused
and on not wasting any minute of the lords work...and we saw SO MANY
MIRACLES HAPPEN.
The lords work is so perfect, it's just the people that have to fix a
few things aka US.
Had another perfect morning! We were out of the house by 10 sharp for
service at brother abdon! Even though it was raining, we went to the
back of his house and cleaned up his porch and got to visit with his
wife, Tena. And saw a friend of ours  there too! Sister fregnal! So
that was cool.
Then home to change, and went to see Ruth. Had one of the best lessons
with her, and she asked for us to give her something to read out of
the Book of Mormon. So that's was great!
Then home for lunch, had a great lunch and got ready for some more visits.
Went and contacted referrals/ visited some LA sisters...most of the
sisters weren't home but we left cards at their house then went to see
their neighbors. Did this for about 2 hours, took some pictures on the
way. It was fun!
Around 4pm, we went over to see wendy...and she wasn't home..so we
were a little confused haha and then decided to just go see Judy, her
roommate. And she let us in! We talked, got to know her a little bit-
shared a mormon message with her about thanksgiving. Then helped her
with some things she needed help with. That was an hour, then left to
see whitney. She was having a rough day...so we took some Carmel
popcorn bagged up with a few notes and heart attacked her door while
she had company over and then left to try to go see some more people
before dinner.
Dinner was with the stoddards, and we went to a pizza place in town.
It was so good, and we had a missionary discussion/ conversation with
them and everything was perfect. We all were working together too see
what we could do to help the work grow here.
After dinner, we went to see ashley...so we decided to ding dong ditch
her...and left a note with a sweet treat to give her some "comfort
food" she hurt her finger so we thought it would be nice to just give
her something sweet! Sister pickup stayed in the car while I ran to
their door and knocked and ran back to the car and we drove off so
they couldn't see us lol it was fun. Pickup was laughing at me, but
that's normal so we were both laughing haha. #mylifeissohard.....JK.
Went and saw charla for a few seconds, then called the Roseville
elders to check up on one of our investigators, ria, and how she was
doing.  Made a few other phone calls, then nethier one of us knew
where we should go next so we prayed, then talked for alittle bit and
both agreed that we should see grace, a friend of the stoddards, so we
went there...and she answered and we had a great contact with her!
Then to the Johnson's house, another great visit!  They invited us
over, so it was great!
We got a text from ashley and she thanked us for the card then she
texted us later asking about what shoes she could wear to church...so
we answered....and then one of us said the obvious...what a miracle.
She's reading, and is thinking about maybe trying to come to church.
That's huge guys. Texted/ called a few more people. Got home at 9pm,
planned, and got ready for bed.
We did our best to exactly obediant...and we were blessed. Sister
pickup and I had such a great day! I love days like this. Everything
worked out.

Sunday, November 23rd.
Had meetings in the morning, and they went good! Then went to see
Charlie, a member who is in a nursing home now and loves visitors, so
that was a good 30 minutes, tried to see a few more people..then back
to the church for another meeting.
It was with the stoddards, and the rest of the Ward missionaries.
Church was great! Sean came so that was a miracle! We had gwyn, and
rachel come too! It was packed almost. Lots of miracles happened.
Ashley was about to come but then something came up :/ so that was
kind of a bummer. But there's always next week! Set up another time to
see them though! And the barrys!
We had dinner with the mcgigans, and it was simple. It was nice, and
we had a great conversation with the family. Mike, Rachel's husband,
was asleep but toward the end of the lesson after dinner....he woke up
and came out so we got to see him and visit with him for a little bit.
Danika, is ready to be baptized and is excited! Many miracles have
happened to that family in the past year....and mike is getting more
comfortable with us! I love the people here.
We went to see gwyn and her family...but no one answered expect
Anika..her youngest daughter, and she was about to go to bed cuz the
rest of the family was asleep so we decided to go back another time.
And then went to see sandy Hoffman, it was a good contact. Then
planning and night time schedule. Another busy day!

Monday, November 24th. Today.
P-day!
Doing the normal, shopping, cleaning, and laundry then going to
lincoln to chill with the other missionaries.
So I'm excited yall.
Hope you guys have a great week!
Love yalll!
Until next week,

Sister nicole matchett

November 10th- 17th

Monday, November 10th.
Today, doing the normal. Going to eat breakfast with the elders one
more time to chill before the two going home...offically leave for
home and stop at the mission office before noon today. Sista pickup
and I will go to lincoln and have a signing journal party too with the
other missionaries getting transferred.
Left lincoln around 5:30pm, and got ready for dinner with the
Suchomels. And they made homemade pizza- so good! Then went and saw
the barrys, and had another great lesson with them! They put our
"turkey decorations " on their holiday tree.
Cute! They like them! We watched another church documentary video on the church.
Then went and saw some more people. Then planned, and night schedule.
So it was a good day.

Tuesday, November 11th.
Went out and Saw a few people, then went to the church for a lesson
with a LA lady, sister Munoz, but she forgot and we rescheduled for
Wednesday. Then had lunch.
And went over to the la Plantes, it was just JC and her mom. We helped
them out a little bit! And then went and contacted a few referrals,
stopped by whitney to see how she was doing ...good visit! Then went
and saw the Greers, another LA/ PMF family we have been trying to get
ahold of and finally got contact with them! And stopped by wendy. It
was chilly outside, it's starting to get into the cold weather
Then dinner with the neves, they served 2 senior missions. Both
proselyting and in the office ...so it was fun getting to know them.
They made soup. Which was so yummy btw. It's soup season yall. Love
it.
Then went to the BOM class, and no one came. So we left to go see some
more people! Since it was transfer day, the elders got their new
companions while johnson and Pruitt were getting home.
Met elder rubows new companion, and our new district leader- elder
giesler. Super nice and ready to work. Then the new ZL who replaced
elder pruitt. His name is elder Gilles. Super chill and nice too! I
can tell we are all going to get some work going ...and continue the
example set for us by johnson and Pruitt. And we are probably going to
laugh a lot too hahaha all of us put together...we were cracking
jokes. It was great.
Then came home and planned, and got ready for bed.
Great day!

Wednesday, November 12th.
Morning we went and saw a bunch of people, tried to contact some
referrals.no one was home though so we left cards.
Then had lunch, and sister likes, a sister who served in loomis
before, was done with her mission and her parents drove from Georgia
to pick her up and she wanted to see some people here! So we saw them
at lunch, then at margrets also...we did service for magret too, it
was good stuff! So it was fun! They got pictures too!
Then changed, and went over to rachel mcgigans house to teach Danika,
her oldest daughter, who wants to be baptized so we reviewed...and set
up another time for Thursday to finish the lessons then go from there!
The whole family is excited too- Danika is ready to go!! I love it.
Then went and tried to see some more people, make contacts, and then
dinner at the church for a RS activity....it was a lot of fun too!
Then followed up with the hodgkins about their day of fasting...and it
was a great visit!
Then home, planning, and bed.

Thursday, November 13th.
We had zone meeting this morning, and it went really well.
Had lots of discussion on exact obediance, love, and got to hear from
some of the high council members...it was all great! That went from
10:30am- 1:30pm. Then had lunch at lincoln Chinese as a zone...I was
fasting so everyone else ate while I sat there chillin haha it was
funn though!
Then left back to loomis, and  went to change for a service project
with a lady in the Ward...but I got this feeling we shouldn't be
there...it was a strong feeling too, we both felt weird about doing it
for that time so we didn't go..and everything worked out fine with
sister staker...so we were able to reschedule and set up another time.
We don't know why we felt off about it...but we followed the prompting
of the spirit. And went back home, changed into normal work
clothes...and went out to see some more people until the lesson with
Danika, and rachel mcgiguan.
We taught lesson 5 by making it a matching game with each topic and
one scripture that was simple enough to get the main idea of what it
was. Danika picked it up quick, and was able to understand, and it was
cool to see how willing she was to learn. I love teaching children.
She's ready to go for baptism, and her family is ready and excited
too!
Then dinner with bishop and his wife, the lathams, they took us to
paneras...and it was a great visit with them. They are quite the busy
parents, one daughter getting married....another one going on a
mission, and another one being busy doing dance and piano and school.
They are so great! All of these things going on and happening in a few
months. Crazyy.
Then went to see an Investogator, Kathy, who we haven't seen in
awhile...and we were prompted to go see her...so we went...and we were
able to have a good contact with her! Then went to see Charlie, an
older gentlemen in the Ward, who is in a nursing home and physically
not able to do things....but mentally is still kicking. It was a.
Great visit! Then went and saw charla, and another great visit. She
had a great fasting day, and we were able to see lots of progress in
her. Fasting brings miracles yall.
Then home, planning, and night schedule.

Friday, November 14th.
Great day!
Went and got to suprise Jaci ( sister la Plantes daughter) early
before she went to school...and she was so happy! Sister pickup
braided her hair, and her dad ( Tony) got her some cute earrings too.
We had a great scripture study too as sister pickup was doing her
hair. It was fun! Then home, studied, and left around 10 for a
birthday breakfast that the relief society president, sister suchomel
puts on. We had charla, an investigator, come with us! She was so
excited too! She told everyone it was my birthday on the 17th, and it
was so fun just getting to hang out with lovely ladies of the Ward.
Charla exchanged info with sister suchomel so she could get the Ward
activities sent to her!  We left after eating, said goodbyes, then
sister pickup and I headed to the church for weekly planning...and it
was great! Lots of good planning happened.
Then lunch, and contacted more referrals before the lesson with austin
and gerald!
The addleys were at the lesson as well as a friend of austin
came...and since it was austins birthday on Wednesday...there was
cake. It was great. We ate cake as we read a general conference
talk...that's the way to do it yall! We were fed spiritually and
physically haha it was great.
Then dinner with the kesters, and we had some great Korean food...lots
of fun food we tried...seaweed chips, lettuce wraps, some sushi stuff,
Kim shi, and lots of other stuff that I can't pronounce or spell. Haha
but it was good. They had some of the other young couples in the Ward
come too so it was a packed house....and we got to get to know them
better.
There was traffic on one of the main roads so we had to wait for a
little bit before we could get to anyone's house...but when we were
able to drive on it past the construction...we went to the astles to
visit them...and dacoda was there! Totally unexpected. But it was such
a tender mercy...and we had a great visit and lesson with everyone!!
The lord provides miracles when we work hard. It's cool to see that
happen.
Then after that visit, went to start the barrys fast with them...then
home to plan and bed. We were exhausted. It was such a great day!

Saturday, November 15th.
Spent most of the day at the barrys. We did a lot of service over
there...and cut up a lot of fruit after we did yardwork so sister
pickup and I smelled like oranges, persimmons, and berrys. It was
great haha! After service, we had a great lesson with them about
giving thanks and how we can always find something to be grateful for!
Sean and sister barry both did their day of fasting while we were over
there...working with food haha it was kinda funny too haha but they
were good sports about it. Sean asked if we could come over again on
Monday and have another lesson so it was great!
Then home to change, and a lesson with wendy...and it was great!! Then
went to try to contact a few more referrals....some interested, and
some not home. We sure tried though! Then went to see a few members to
see how they were doing- we saw the bramletts, and the meteers. Both
quick visits but we could tell they just needed some cheering up...so
it was inspired!
Then a late dinner, I had a smoothie with lots of good stuff in
it...lots of fruit. Yummy! Then tried a few more people, came back
home planned...and night schedule.
Good day. Lots of fun things happened.

Sunday, November 16th.
Meetings went well today, brother stoddard was out of town so one of
our Ward missionaries came to take his place for today haha and it was
gerald. So it was a great time with him there haha went home for
lunch, then visited some other people.
Church went great! Sister Joyner spoke on prayer in relief society,
and it was a great lesson. The spirit was strong.
We had Tony la plante come, and they all left after sacrament prob oh
to celebrate jacis birthday. It was good to see them!
After church, we updated everything. Then went to see some people. We
had to run home to get something...and the elders were late for dinner
so we pulled a prank on them by telling them the thomsons left cuz
they were late...so they went out( the elders were supposed to come
for dinner ) so sister pickup answered the door, told them they
weren't home...etc. They believed her for a good few minutes...then
quickly realized that it was a joke. Funniest thing. All of us were
laughing for a little bit. Then we left and went to dinner with the
meteer family, such good people. We had a great time over there- super
missionary minded people.
Then stopped by Amberly and her family, shared a mesage with them.
Then came home and Sunday night routine.

Monday, November 17th,
Today is preparation day aka PARTY DAY.
The icing on it is ....hersheys cookies n' cream
frosting. YUM.
It. Is. So. Good.
Then after p-day, dinner then the barrys, they wanted us to come over
to have a lesson and to have some of the persimmon sauce we made on
ice cream in celebration of my birthday at the end. Perfect day for
Monday. So we are excited.

This week was great!! I hope yall are able to see miracles too in your
week as well. I love yall and am so grateful for everyone one of you.
Enjoy the pictures!
Until next week,

Sister Matchett...now 21 years old. Crazyyy. Love yall! :)

November 3rd- November 9th

Hellurrr everybody. It's matchett.
How are yall? Well, I hope. Another great week. Yall ready for this?! LETS GO.

Monday, November 3rd.
Typical p-day. Did errands, cleaned, emailed, and hung out with the
missionaries in Lincoln zone. It was fun just to play sports and do
normal stuff haha.
Elder johnson and Pruitt from the loomis area are going home next
week...it's going to be a short week for them ...they both are
wonderful elders and have served well. They truly changed on their
mission. It's weird for me to think time goes by so much faster now.
Left lincoln around 4:30ish, then went back and got ready for dinner.
Dinner was with the lakes, they dropped off food at our house...they
had family come in unexpected so they were with them and they still
gave us food! Seriously, such kind people. So many good people in this
ward.
Then after we ate, left to go visit the McLeod family to see how their
day of fasting went. And it was such a good visit!
Then went to see the barrys, and had a short message with them and got
to set up another time to see them this week. It was a great for
preparation day lol so many good things happened...and it's just the
start of the week.

Tuesday, November 4th.
We had our final district meeting for this transfer with elder johnson
and Pruitt before they go home next Monday. YUP! They are almost done.
Only one more week left. It was one of the best DM's I've ever had-
the spirit was so strong. We all were able to share with eachother how
missions have changed our lives. It was a great meeting.
Had lunch, then tried to go see margaret and we weren't able to get to
her house- there was an event for one of the police officers who was
shot a month ago in auburn being held on taylor road so it was cut off
for us to drive anywhere. We set up a time for a lesson and service at
Margaret's on Wednesday. Then went to see some more people, and then
did service at sister Linda swells with the elders and we got a lot
done.
Went home and cleaned up, then headed to dinner with sister fregnal.
And it was a great meal and time at her house!
Then the BOM class at the church, and Elder Bradshaw and Elder Rubow
came and one of the members in the loomis 2nd Ward came...we read
Lehi's dream in 1st Nephi 8, and it was a good discussion. Lots of
insight.
Then went to visit more people after and night time schedule.
Love loomis. Love being a missionary. Love serving.

Wednesday, November 5th.
Slow morning, tried to go see some people in the morning and mid day
but no one was really home...we tried to see them anyways!
We went and do service at Margaret's, then had a lesson with her and
helped her with some things she needed done with her lesson in
primary. It was such a good visit!  She just loves people and accepts
them as they are. She ALWAYS teaches me everytime we go over there.
Went home and changed, took care of phone calls.
Left around 5pm, and tried to see a few more people before dinner with
the powers.
We got to dinner, and sister powers was running late...really
stressed...so we helped her out! And just talked to her, and
everything was alright! We shared the "you never know" video with
them, and it calmed everyone down. Then in the prayer, one of her
daughters farted.loudly.....we were all laughing so hard after we
finished. Love little kids.
After dinner we went to the astles, and saw her family and had a great
lesson with dacoda and her family. We shared "the hope of gods light"
video and then went around and shared what we liked about it...so cool
how the church makes these videos that relate with so many
people....the spirit was so strong! Turns out her daughter, was going
through a rough spot...and sister astle was trying to figure out what
to tell her...and her daughter wanted the lesson too...she made sure
to stay for it. This is truly the Lords work. It's cool to be apart of
those small moments. Dacoda liked it a lot too. So we are going to
meet up again soon and start teaching more! Then went to start brother
Donavan's fast with him and we all got some good insight!
Then night time schedule, and bed.

Thursday, November 6th.
Went and saw ashley in the morning, had a really good visit with her.
Then went and did service for sister staker for about 3 hours ..so
lots of yardwork. It was fun getting to help her too, she's got a lot
going on and gives so much of her time. I just love her so much!
Then came home, and cleaned up. Did more finding, got some things
needed to be done then dinner with the wooden family! We got to visit
with them and spend time with their wonderful family- two little ones,
both cute too haha!
They had a good day of fasting, and are still seeking those missionary
moments too. Then went and saw president Alston, talked with him for a
little bit. Then went to follow up with the Johnson's about their day
of fasting....all good visits.
Miracles are happening. We were able to set up a time with brandon and
ashley, the couple we are teaching for Saturday! Then contact a few
more people and build more trust in the ward. The 40 day fast is
working already. I love working with the members! We are busy! Good
problem to have haha day was good!

Friday, November 7th.
Weekly planning was today! It went well, and then lunch.
Went and did more finding. Then had another great lesson with austin
and gerald.....all of us were laughing at his jokes and just hanging
out talking about Jesus and his gospel. It was great! The memories we
are making...so great. I love these people here so much!
Went and saw wendy after, she had a good day today. We had a good read
from one of the talks given in conference. And then we headed over to
the barrys for dinner...and Sean made tacos...it was all good.  They
accidentally put celery out instead of lettuce haha so we had celery
burritos haha it wasn't too bad actually.
We were able to watch a church video with them, and it led to a good
conversation about the church...and their prayers and studies. It was
great. Then came home and got in bed after planning. We were tired.
Great day. Saw a lot of miracles. Great stuff friends.

Saturday, November 8th.
Did service all morning. First service project at Part member family,
brother abdons wife isn't a member and he has a huge amount of
property so we went over and did some yardwork for them. We got to
meet Tena, his wife. Really nice lady. Then went over and helped the
loomis 1st elders do some service with them at a members house
there...lots of stuff to do in her backyard...just cleaning it up ..so
we helped them do that, then had lunch with them! She had a bunch of
pizza, salad, and some muffins for us lol and had us take it home plus
more food she gave us. Turns out she's a convert, so we talked with
her about her story and got to know her. It was great. And we got to
have lunch one more time elder Johnson and rubow too! It was a great
visit.
Then went home and cleaned up. Went and tried to contact a few
referrals, some were receptive..some weren't. Saw grace again!
Then went and stopped by the Gordon's! A couple who doesn't come to
church that often because of health reasons....brother Gordon and his
wife have been waiting for 18 months to know if brother Gordon
qualifies for a new heart...and they got a phone call saying he was
accepted! So now he just has to go in and get a few more things
done...but it was an answer to their prayers ...and they looked more
happy and excited than they have been in the past visits. It was an
inspired visit because we also found out some info about another
family we have been trying to reach too! Miracles yall. They happen.
Then came home for dinner, our dinner fell through. So we ate
leftovers from lunch- it worked out! Then went and saw brandon and
ashley...and had a great lesson with them! Things are finally falling
into place and they trust us more so they were more open with us!
Prayers are working. And we are being blessed. Then went and tried to
see a few more people, than home and nightly planning. And got ready
for Sunday.
Great day. I love serving the Lord, and seeing people grow in the
gospel. And seeing myself grow. Love loomis.

Sunday, November 9th. Transfer call night.
Had meetings in the morning, they went great. Then had lunch, and went
to see Anne west before another meeting. She wasn't feeling too well,
but it was a good visit.
Then church, and it was packed. We had two investigators there...Tony
and Sean came! Both the spouses of active sisters in their Ward.
Sister barry( Sean's wife) spoke and she did so good! Lots of people
came too! We got ready for teaching a lesson in RS during second
hour....lesson was on missionary work...it was difficult for us - but
thankfully it all worked out. Haha! It went better than we expected.
Went and saw the simenson/Carrillo family after church, great visit.
Dinner was with the la Plantes, and Tony was there! He's been working
a lot lately, so it was nice to see him! Dinner was great, and we had
a lovely message at the end.
Then went and saw charla, she's fasting tomorrow in the 40 day
fast.she was excited too! We were able to have a really good lesson
with her too. Then updated, and met up with the ZL's and other elders
in loomis and got some pictures together.....and was handed a package!
I was exciteddd. My sis, Jessica, sent it for my birthday. Which is
next week...crazy guys. I'm going to be 21. Woah.
Then got ready for Monday, and waited for transfer calls....and me and
pickup are staying together!! For another 6 weeks. YES. And I don't
have to pack. I love when I don't have to pack haha!
And we have some great missionaries coming in to replace elder Johnson
and Pruitt.
Then bed.

So it's going to be a good
day.
Then meet with the barrys after dinner for another lesson. Yay!

Hope yall had a great week! Love yall. Believe in miracles....they
happen everyday. So much to be grateful for.
Another great 6 weeks ahead!
And enjoy the pictures too- lots of them this week!
Until next week,

Sister matchett.
